A reason to pick Arcane Presence! (kind of..)

Other CWs will know I've been plumbing for an upgrade to Arcane Presence for a while. Seems like Mod5 brings an off hand to us that gives an option.

You'll have to use the Chilling Cloud artifact weapon, but there's something about paying 50k AD to change the class feat. As ever, watch for complete reworks and more updated info, but I thought I'd post this here as I know many who hardly visit the test forums.

    Nope.

    • Critical Conflagration: Now also increases your Critical Chance by 5% for Arcane and Cold based spells.
    • Combustive Reaction: Now also heals you for 1% of your maximum hit points when an enemy dies while affected by your Smolder.
    • Orb of Imposition: Now increases your control bonus by an additional 5%.
    • Storm Fury: Now also increases your damage by 5% while below 30% health.
    • Storm Spell: Now has a 5% chance to deliver an additional strike.
    • Chilling Presence: Now increases your damage by an additional 0.5% per stack of Chill on your target.
    • Swath of Destruction: Now increases the damage of Smolder by an additional 10%.
    • Arcane Presence: Now also gives you 2% Action Points when you damage enemies with Cold based spells.
    • Evocation: Now increases the damage of your Area of Effect powers by an additional 3%.
    • Eye of the Storm: Now increases your Critical Severity by 5%.

I wonder if that allows for back-to-back OF. That would be... interesting.

I like A Presence, it gives huge buffs to cold damage, and nothing else slows down enemies as well as freeze attacks and chill.

Arcane Presence, is essentially a 3rd string skill.

    1) Storm Spell, Eye of the Storm.
    2) Evocation
    3) Chilling Presence, Arcane Presence.

Both Storm Spell & Eye of the Storm are basically 23-40% of damage improvements. Evocation is constant 15% damage improvement to compatible spells. Both presence skills depend on building stacks which takes time (ie a sustained combat & stacking cold or arcane). For me, Evocation will out damage either presence skill.

Hmm, thanks. I just go by the description in the powers menu, or I have so far. This game is very detail intense.

Regardless of the other character classes, Wizard (in all it's versions) has always been incredibly detail intense. Be thankful, this isn't one of my old D&D Dungeon Masters that I played under, in his game you weren't allowed to look at the books in combat as a wizards (so I still have 1st ed AD&D spells memorized).

... would each tick of Ray of Frost count as a separate spell? Having Ray of Refilling Daily would be a bit too nice, probably.

That's exaclty what I was wondering. I'm pretty sure they implemented an internal cooldown or something alike. Would be too insane to have CoI + Icy + CC/RoF instantly refill your OF...

Where did you get this info for "Eye of the Storm: Now increases your Critical Severity by 5%." If this is a correct info then this is a huge change on CW!

For us MoFs - look at the critical conflagration feature. It is basically a 5% crit chance boost.

You scared me big time here I was thinking that devs gonna change EOTS from 100 crit chance to 5% crit severity :) and that would be a huge change to SS CWs. Well you can't say then EOTS because MOF doesnt have EOTS it is for SS CW. EOTS is gong to get 30% chance to activate but only on critical. Tnx for clearing this up ;)
