Thanks for 2x refining weekend

Regardless if it was a reward for facebook useage, I just wanted to say thanks for this event. I cleared out alot of refinement items taking up bank space and got all my artifacts on all my toons to at least 60 and a few Legendary here and there.

So thanks for the event! Appreciate it and I think it was one of the best AD sinks in awhile. I know I'm broke.

Though the way to get it was a bit shallow, the event itself was pretty awesome and managed to clear a lot of backlog. I didn't benefit as much as I could have since I have like 100 unused stacks of r4, but I managed to gear up my main a lot higher and neglect my other 7 characters a little less. I spent a lot more than I expected to on gmop...

Yeah, this was a great event.

I got 3 artifacts from 1 to epic, seveeral into the high 80s (I know I should have concentrated on one artifact to legendary, but I have so many alts...), an artifact belt to epic and another to level 25, plus everyone's enchantments are rank 7 or 8 (or have refinement points to be rank 7 or 8, but I ran out of preservation wards).

It was a great AD sink, too -- I bought lots of marks of potency from the Wondrous Bazaar, as well as gear from the AH with the 10% cut.

It was nice to see the ZAX backlog drop all weekend.

I'm normally very critical of the "patches" and events because of all sorts of issues. However, I will give credit where credit is due on this weekend.

But to REALLY show appreciation of the Community this event should have run until Tuesday 10AM PDT.

I came close to burning myself out on Neverwinter trying to farm fodder for my artifact weapon but I got it to level 35 faster than expected and got my previously highest level artifact (47) to 60. Neither of these I ever expected to acheive under 'normal' playing conditions. So I'm happy.

Why? Makes you sound kind of ungrateful. Though it would've been nice since I ran out of time, but I should have prepared myself more.

Yes, this was a nice event. I managed to get two artifacts up to epic level and my new belt up to purple level, so yeah...I am happy.

One thing I was not quite clear on - has there been a 2xRP weekend before - I remember a 2xAD weekend - twice I think, and maybe a 2xXP , but 2xRP?

Didnt really farm or do much this weekend, but prepared prior to and got my HR up to par on artifacts. Too busy with football season

I prepared for about 2 weeks, hoarding and saving, I actually was visiting sharandar every day to get keys (didnt' realize they could be gained every day even if you already had one), although I got really burned out running he lairs and ran out of time as lairs in sharandar tend to take a bit of time, think the first one is fastest if you run a toon that can fight one big pull at the end. However in the end my biggest problem was not really planning on what I needed to upgrade on what my future character build was going to be so I ended up jsut upgrading more or less what I had. So nice to have many items ready to upgrade to R8 or 9 once I get the money for the potencys. I got most of my most played classes up to R60 artifacts which is nice (cept one that can't afford to the mats to upgrade it but its ready for it at least).

I have to say I think I need a break now though as I think I played 10 hours a day friday saturday and sunday ... with several hours literally devoted to clicking and dragging items into waht i'm refining ... I found that if I dragged items from my inventory into what I was refining I never crashed. I only crashed with using the "fill refining slots" button.

*IF* they start to add more artifact gear (belts,rings,armor sets etc) I'd be surprised if they didn't start to hold 2X RP at least once per module if not more often.

We can only hope. I actually did not believe it was gonna happen until the final card mob was defeated. I hate to say it, I did not participate in the instagram one. No account and did not want yet another one.

Well, from a positive perspective, it looks like the weekend did a fantastic job of clearing out a lot of excess AD. If I were Cryptic, I'd look at the metrics and maybe use it as a basis for making some adjustments to the refinement cost.

I know between all the people in my guild, we probably spend 10's of millions of AD on refinement stones from the Wondrous Bazaar alone, not to mention the AD (or Zen) on C-Wards and P-Wards.

I think it would be beneficial financially for PWE to reduce the costs of refinement. It's extremely expensive to do whether you spend the time collecting refining resources or spend real money buying refining resources to use. A player can spend hundreds if not thousands of dollars upgrading items if they wish to do so.

Extra credits had a video out on youtube a few days ago, talking about high costs of free-2-play games and how it can drive players away. I think for the most part I agree with their argument and hope this is something PWE avoids doing.
