I am wondering has any of the customer service reps been helpful enough to trace out items that has been taken or stolen, after being hacked or compromised?
Son's account was hacked last night and they took his Hammerstone set, bags from the Zen market and (this is the one that pisses me off) his perfect Vorpal. Noticed also that all his AD was some how transferred to his Rogue off his control wizard (me and him was boggled by this action).
But again, I wanted to know if anyone has been successful in getting their stuff back as when I was hacked in WOW once, the Customer service rep got all my epic items back for me in about 15 minutes and banned the culprit (will this be the same outcome here?).
And I did have him change email passwords, account passwords and checked computer for malware, vipre, the whole 9 yards with nothing found.
I may not be considered by most the BEST PVP Warlock on the server but, I am the most HATED amongst them.
yes but it's a rollback so stop playing your toon in the meantime.
+1 What he said - submit the ticket with as much detail as possible (date, timeframe) and they can roll back the character a day or two.
Tell your son in the future to NEVER do any in-game trading with strangers, as I am certain there is someway that they can hack your account in conjunction with in-game trading (happened on one of my accounts). Let me guess, his character was standing near a mail courier or mailbox in PE and AD, gold, and other stuff missing?

Yes, I know of three people who were hacked, then had their account rollback to when they last had control of their character. I might take a few days, but you'll get there.

My account was compromised some time ago. Customer Service was very helpful and rolled my account back to before the theft. Be polite to them, and patient - they are super busy.
I have never traded with anyone ingame, so mine was hacked some other way. When it happened, I changed all passwords - account, email, and payment processors, just to be safe. (The only other thing I can think of is that someone requested to trade with me, while I was afk or something. I wonder if they could get what they need without you accepting to trade?)
They will roll back the char just make sure theirs nothing on the AH or in the Mailboxes cuz it will be lost, so move those items. It took support 9 days in my case.
What is it about in game trading (not doubting you at all - just curious/concerned) that could allow your account to be compromised? What happens in the trade process that couldn't be replicated by an inspection (for example)?

Well... telling you how would be purposefully spreading details of an exploit and thus against the ToS, wouldnt it?
They didn't do anything for me. They couldn't even find trace that someone else did it which was definitely not the case. It could have been worse and I levelled leadership though so meh. A guildie also only got a partial rollback and I think someone else on my friends list only got a partial too. The guildie left because of it even though they spent a craptonne. Hope for the best, but don't expect anything from Cryptic. Ever.

Have to close this down now, as it is just encouraging folks to discuss the topic of bad behavior, which isn't allowed.
In short: Yes, if Support finds that your account was compromised, they will roll-back the affected characters to a point before the compromise occurred.

Good luck!

This alone will save you a lot of potential grief - trust a guy who lost almost 1 million AD, 400 gold, and some items . . .
