So I traded for 15 purified lead. When I tried to buy the Codex of Alchemical Mastery from the merchant though, it said "There is no more room in your inventory".
I have open slots in my main bags, my currency bag, profession resources bag, and assets bag. Where is this codex looking for "room"? I can buy the smoldering satchel just fine, but I prefer a sure thing to a lottery.
EDIT: Nevermind, figured it out. If you're hit with this bug, it appears the code is looking for room in the first main inventory bag (or possibly the last bag, not sure). In any case, move stuff around so you have 1 open slot in every bag and it should clear up.
Planning ahead They tried to run this event a few weeks back before but cancelled it. I made a calculated guess that they wouldn't change the main component: aqua regia. Between then and today, I've been making aqua regia all this time. When the event came around this time (and the component required didn't change), well, I already had 1,500 aqua regia ready to go. I'm sure a lot of other people did the same.
Had they changed the component, I'd have been out of luck, but aqua regia sells for decent AD on the AH anyway even without the event.
Boah no! Why they started it now? Especially without any annoncement?(Or did I missed it?) I don't have the requiered aqua regia yet. T.T
Especially with midsummer festival started...
Why they couldn't bring it in 2 weeks or so? Q.Q

That was my plan initially but in the end it seemed like far too much grind to be worth my time. Good on you for sticking with it though.

^This. I'm only 9 Aqua Regia short of buying enough Lead to get the Codex.
Real question: which character to put the companion on? HAS to be one of my wizards, that's for sure.
I started crafting the 1500 AR from scratch the day they removed the event (July 17th?). It took 3 characters at Lv 20 Alch and 2 at LV 10 ALch , using 5-7 slots each , until August 13 to make 1518 AR LOL.
So I've bought the 15 purified lead bars and the Master Codex and then read the "fine print"
The image in announcement says "Bound to Character" but I thought it was supposed to be BoE ?
Clarification on the "Bound" status would be good .
I am a little confused about this description
"Alternatively, players can collect large amounts of Purified Lead and purchase the Codex of Alchemical Mastery directly, which grants the Alchemy Profession task to entice an Alchemist Experimenter to join your party."
So is this "task" an additional crafting step? What materials are required?
By "entice", does that mean its not a sure thing that the companion will join you ( the party)?
LOL I looked in my Alchemy profession and there was my answer
Level 0 is needed in alchemy profession
All you need is the Codex and 5 minutes
The companion is Bind on Equip and purple.
Now I just need to decide which class would be best served by him
Holy smackers, Batman. I just got my Alchemical Experimenter and I had no idea this guy is a BoE PURPLE Companion. And because it is BoE now I must decide... though I really like everything about it: the active bonus, what he does, etc. so I might just keep him. I'm not sure which toon to throw him on, though. LOL

Didn't plan it quite well enough.
Well:
1,500 Aqua Regia producing
I know it, but unfortunately I wasn't able to craft at least 1,500 of them. Currently at ~1,000. =/
