This is a sincere question, I hear from so many of the players both the free loaders and the payers, just how awful this game is. If is so awful, why do you stay, there are SO many options out there, why not play something else? Don't get me wrong, I'm glad NWO has a large player base, it keeps things fun and interesting but the way some complain, you might think it is more fun to have salt rubbed in an open wound. So if you find the game so awful, unplayable, etc, why do you stay? I'm really curious, I don't understand, if I don't like something, I stop and find an alternative
The people of our great modern American culture are accustomed to having a say in how things happen in our lives. There is nothing wrong with that, and I would say that most of us would find even slightly less freedom that we have to be intolerable. You can call that "being spoiled" or "being entitled", or a million other derogatory ways if you choose, but most Americans would just give you the finger regardless. We want what we want and that's that. When it's something we care about, it can get overly-emotional and aggressive.
That's just how we are. If you don't like it, tough. And I mean that in the most sincerely polite way, of course.
1)ppl that care for this game and hate being plagued by things that seem to be caused by greed/incompetence, at least from that persons point of view
2)there arent many options for f2p mmorpg, at least real F2P
3)even most "freeloaders" support game by buying some zen for ad, if zen stuff wouldnt be tradeable there would be much less zen bought
^Summed it quite well for me. The game itself seemed to be good, but the makers were greedy and showed a lack of care to a lot of things. The odd bug is expected. A trend of neglect is not. Didn't really know it so much as I started playing and joined a great guild where we farmed together and it seems a shame for all that grinding and work to just go away. It feels wasteful. I like to be fair with my criticisms, but nwo make a lot of things to criticise.
When you get a bunch of people together, people always find something to whine, ***** and moan about. It's not just this game.
There's always going to be people crying over nothing. But this is the only game I've played that I felt deserved the critism it gets and more. I moved from a sort of mmo game and that was done so poorly and although this is a better game, I found myself defending that game a lot more because some of the things they were doing were for the best or with the right intentions whilst here it's just to punish players.

To answer you question as to why consumers stay even though they may not be enjoying the product, I recommend you watch a BBC documentary called The Men Who Made Us Spend. It explains all the techniques marketing departments and game designers ARE using to manipulate and compel people to continue playing/purchasing their products without them realising it, even when the user no longer enjoys the experience.
While Neverwinter does have one of the more aggressive business models, it also suffers from the "trying to please everybody syndrome" - trying to keep the content fast and casual whilst still trying to give people a reason to stick around. As we know it's impossible to please everybody

These are called humans, not Americans. I meet this sort all the time.
In adition to all said above, the game is growing faster then PW can control it. There are many unresolved issues that still weren't adressed, while new content keeps being pushed out. There is also the recent lack of trust which I wont go into because I dont want to be responsible for locking this thread see other posts about similar topics.

It is just a perfect mix of bugs, lack of response from official channels, changes that seem very arbitrary and so on. I enjoy this game very much when it works, however there are just lots of things that are just so mangled. Not to drudge up thread locking bait, but people like myself do/did try to support the game and help it grow by putting real world money into it. We were just rewarded with more issues and the same old problems
Will people cry about random stuff for no reason just to cry? You bet they will! They will cry about nonsense just as surly as this thread will be locked or deleted in the next few hours
There are still plenty of real issues to be upset about and people like me don't leave because we have not given up hope. SOME stuff does indeed get better, but it is the 1 step forward 5 steps back model that means slow progress at best. We just hope it will all work out at the end this long bumpy road...

You might want to take a look at your own mentality.
Your term " Freeloaders" sure makes intelligent people question what type of person you really are.
PWE encourages your feedback about the game whether it be positive, negative or neutral as long as it is presented in a respectful and constructive manner. not sure what that means? if your post sounds insulting or demeaning, then it probably is. that is not respect or constructive feedback.
what does that have to do with this thread... everybody has a right to their opinion regardless of whether or not it is in the minority. how you present that opinion is what counts here. and all content that is moderated isn't moderated because a mod disagrees with a point of view. it is moderated because it violates the most simplest of rules: respect.
when you use derogatory language to describe the devs or the moderators, that's disrespectful. when you don't follow forum rules, it's a form of disrespect. when you walk into someone's house and the rules are to take off your shoes, you take off your shoes. not only is it respectful but it's common courtesy. a lot of the people that come to the forums are looking for information or to discuss neverwinter with other like-minded players... but not everyone is going to have the same point of you as you do. and that's normal. but we're going to allow everyone the opportunity to provide their point of view as long as it is not disrespecting any other individual or entity.
people have their own reasons for being dedicated or not dedicated to the game. there's no reason for people to have to explain that and there is no reason for people to judge others for those reasons. it's not the kind of environment we are promoting here.
