The gear you equip on the companions effect the companions right? I put some equips on my companion that raises crit, but it does not show up on its stats. The crit boost from the runestones show up but not from the equipment. Is it safe to assume that though it does not show it, the equip is giving the companion more crit?

If the Companion can equip the item, then yes, it should work normally. Worst case scenario unequip it and reequip it, see if that helps.

Just a heads up about fighting comps (as opposed to augment comps):

It used to be that they could not use power to add damage, and they couldn't crit no matter how much you raised their stats. The only offensive stat that used to help them was recovery, and then it was only some of them that benefitted. You may want to do some testing in-game to see if your companion ever crits AT ALL in combat before worrying about the stats, because I don't know if the devs ever fixed the companion stat thing being mostly worthless for them.

Augment pets, on the other hand, work perfectly fine... but not everyone has an ioun stone or cat following them around. Us poorer folks gotta make do with blade-wielding mercenaries and dogs. :)

I've seen my companions crit. But thanks for the info. Really wish they'd make the gears work on none augments, it's really dumb to let them equip gears but not be able to use them.

The dog is pretty good though lol. I find his prone ability quite useful. I just wish he can use the equips so I can get more armor penetration from him since I've placed eldritch runes on his defense slots. Oh well, I'll keep the gears on anyway, just hope they one day will allow them to use it, even if at half effectiveness.

Companions also benefit from lifesteal and regen quite well.

A Relaxing Stay - NW-DEEYNZYZ9 - Daily Qualified but going to be updated

The most recent data I could find where someone did real testing (back in 2013!!!):

    * Some comps used recovery. Notably, the cleric comp did NOT. Since she is gone now and replaced with a dude, who knows if this is different now. The new cleric comp may be awesome with high recovery.

    * lifesteal scaled very very well with comps. regen also.

    * to a lesser extent, defense was good, and hitpoints worked as advertised (obviously)

    * deflect didn't work. power did nothing. crit did nothing. armorpen was considered "meh".

    * the overall consensus was that DRs kicked in for comps around 500 for each stat (the ones that had any effect).
