Oppressor

I've seen some guides but they're all over a year old and out-of-date. I recently came back to the game (about 2 days ago when I saw they were going to release the warlock) and thought I'd remake my CW (which is level 60 right now, but so much has changed since last I played it's probably best to start over).

I've always enjoyed niche builds and underdogs. I was using shard before it became popular. Even back when I played I couldn't stand the damage-craze that most CW went for and thought it went against the grain of what CW was meant to be: crowd control.

So how is oppressor, now that Mod 4 is here?

From what I'm hearing, it's control overkill, basically trivializing any content that involves masses of controllable adds.

In other words, it's the epitome of crowd control? I like that.

Unlike when you left Oppressor is now quite useful. It's capstone feat is "Shatter" which is very useful. After you freeze an enemy they go into a state of "shatter" where they take more damage and have a chance of getting stunned for 5 seconds. Also, Orb of Imposition has been boosted by a lot and can now extend control durations by 75%. So a few seconds for freeze, plus 5 second stun, multiplied by 1.75 and you have enemies standing around looking stupid for a long, long time.

How are Oppressors in pvp also? I like to do both pvp and pve and have no idea if I should go Thaum or Oppressor? I used to be a Renegade but think that's not going to work very well for me anymore and would like to switch. I used to be a Thaum so know how to build one of those just fine but have NO clue on how to even go about building an oppressor. Are they pretty much built the same as they used to be? if so then I can go back and do some reading on them or find a few older guides to get some ideas on how I want to build mine. I'm not asking for any builds because other people's builds rarely work well for me. I just want some general knowledge, tips on how to build them.

Also as a CW if I go Oppressor what kind of enchants should I concentrate on? Mine are kinda all over the board, got a couple crit enchants, a couple of rec. Defensive ones are hp and a few Arp to get my Arp up. Should I maybe stack more power or what? None of my stats are super high, most of my enchants are lv. 7 or so with a Normal Vorpal and lesser Soulforged. Any tips, ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I don't need to know about gear because I just have the Corrupted Black Ice set. Working on the Purified set and then I'm going to play around with saving up and buying or getting others in dungeons. Thanks.
