Okay, I usually don't make post on things like this because I usually don't run anything other than Ioun stone companions "Most are garbage for min maxing stats, in comparison". Been getting into the Rping portion of the game and I am wanting to get this evil or shady themed healing companion for my Drow Warlock.

My question is, "Again, I am very confused by this.", It states that I have to purchase "5" coalescent wards from the store on 7/26 or 7/27/2014?

How is this suppose to work exactly?
I may not be considered by most the BEST PVP Warlock on the server but, I am the most HATED amongst them.

within those 24 hours, you have to BUy those 5 coalescent ward.

Even if to me, its not worth the green companions they are giving.

Just bear in mind that for the price of 5 coalescent wards you can just take the standard (free) white cleric companion and pretty much upgrade it to an epic, or close to it by converting zen -> AD.

    Something to think about.

Point of clarification - it is 5 "stacks" of 5, which means you need to spend 500 Zen. I was confused by this at first.

It's the Faithful Initiate and it is Uncommon (green) quality when claimed. Cleric Disciples can be bought from the Companion vendor in Protector's Enclave for 2 gold coins, which starts at Common (white) quality. The stats shown on the promotion page is incorrect, it should be showing the stats for a Faithful Initiate instead. The avatar image is correct though, when fully upgraded and leveled to Rank 30.

I'll see if we can get the news article and all future news articles like this be more in-depth and clear on these matters so we don't have to keep pointing to the past on how we've been doing this.

To clarify, If you're talking about the first day's, you need to buy the 10-pack 5 times for 5 stacks, for 50 total Preservation Wards, which are 100 Zen for 10 - meaning you's need to spend 500 Zen, obtaining 50 Preservation Wards. Also, you have until 10:00am Pacific Daylights Time for day 1's (which is in approx 3 hours and 15 minutes from the time of this post).

EDIT: Re-reading, I think you may have been referring to day 3's and omitted a zero. So just in case; For day 3's, yes you'd need to buy 5 total Coalescent Wards, at 1000 Zen each for a total of 5000 Zen.

Might want to edit again. Coal wards, not preservation.

Agree that promotions need to be more clear and not show wrong stats/quality for rewards

Writing this because people get so confused

First ote that the times they list are in PST. So check your time before you buy.

    Day 1 -

(Yesterday) buy 5 stacks of Preservation wards for a total of 50 (500 zen)

    Day 2 -

Buy 1 Blood Ruby (800 zen)

    Day 3 -

Buy 5 Coal Wards (5000 zen)

    Day 4 -

Buy 2 Blood Ruby Packs (4000 zen)

Buy all this HAMSTER and get a set of bonus companions and titles. If you miss a day or missed the time window, you do not get the 4th day reward (Drow Mercenary). All companions will be green. They are subpar but look cool if you rank them up to 30.

The faithful initiate bonus is wrong in the pic.. it is showing the Cleric Disciple at level 30. Faithful Initiate does not have regen as a bonus, she has Recovery and defense. At level 30 it is +165 to each stat.

    http://neverwinter.gamepedia.com/Faithful_Initiate

Items arrive on 7/31. You do not get them the day you buy them. Items get sent to you from knox in an in game mail and from the rewards agent.

Hopefully it clears it up. If I made it worse I apologize.

Personally, for this companion, I would get it via the IGN promotion (still going, last I heard). Sign up for 1 month of IGN (~7$) and you get this companion as an account wide unlock.

$7 to read a gaming website? Yeah its not like we could get those for free

You just made those $10 coal ward price tags seem reasonable.

Of course, you need 5 of those, so if spending $50 on CW is more appealing than spending only $7, sure, why not!

IF you want the cwards , go ahead.. but frankly, there is ZERO reason to get the companion, the cleric white is all you ever need in terms of actual healing while leveling.. frankly I think I didnt bother to even level mine up on my HR.. it died all the time, never slotted anything in it ect.

For everyday leveling experience, the white version is more then you need.

There has been so many freebie companions (or other ones you could get for spending alot less then this) that I already have a stable of greens when I play a new character, none of them really are gamebreaking, but I use mystagogue alot, because its a little cooler looking then some of the other freebies.

Just to note.. i have a faithful intitiate. This companion rarely heals. In fact I have never seen it heal me and if it does its a paltry amount. I think she is a dps cleric.

You may have answered your own question there. I find this companion to be quite good during leveling (of course it suffers from the same idiocy all companions suffer) and feel that it is noticeably better than the white cleric. The OP also mentioned aesthetic reasons for getting this companion.

Sounds like you need to file a support ticket.

Not sure what companion you have, but mine heals me all the time and for noticeable amounts. She even seems to perform better than the Angel of Protection; I can't get that thing to heal for heck.

heh mine is the other way around.. angel is the best healer ever. initiate likes to aoe and dps.. at least for me.

If you do a bunch of alts, this promotion *may* be worth it. Most people want 2 lesser enchants, at least, for each character. So, if you for even 2 characters, you need the coals. May as well get them now, and get a freebie companion tossed in on the side.

I agree that 'green' rank companions seem to be a bit of a letdown, when you can get a blue ( for every character ) for 3500 zen, if you buy the HR pack.

Still... free is free. We're spending 50 on coal wards, to turn some shards into enchants. The companion is a bonus, not the main reason to buy the wards.

A bit of free advice now: only use the coals on upgrading enchants. Anything else, unless you're talking 9-10s, the percentages say it's cheaper to stock up on some preservation wards. And... you've got 50 in the bank from yesterday's promotion, right?

I don't recall the initiate having an AoE attack? only a single target attack and a heal.
BTW: on my geared initiates, when her heal pops a critical, the healing bumps are in the region of ~900 hp each. pretty decent!

I like this type of promotion. I participated in the first one, and have made great use of the companions, including the Faithful Initiate, on various alts. I'm planning to get the Quickling this time around.

There was an issue during the first promotion. Some accounts were not credited properly, but support tickets resolved the problem (at least for me). Hopefully whatever algorithm they're using won't have the same hiccups this time.
