So, if it's based off the wiki, all of the companions are green, except the skeletal dog which is white, or are they gonna give the blue version that dropped during valindra's invasion?

They could give us a green version of it (probably likely).

The way they've been treating the player/customer base lately, I wouldn't expect any "top" (or even upper) shelf hand outs.

    Well met everyone!

. . . We've just gotten confirmation that the companions shown are shown at their Rank 30 stats so players can see their potential, as has been promoted in the past. Sorry for any confusion this caused. You can see a list of Companions and their starting Ranks on the official Wikia, here: http://neverwinter.gamepedia.com/Companions

The necessity of showing this 'full potential' is debatable, and how they are just showing it is a cause for confusion.

Past announcements at least mention the quality of companions eg. 'of uncommon quality'. It's non misleading. At the very least, continue to do that.

They even had the name of the companions written in orange letters... made me think it's gonna be some kind of a special one-time only chance to get it or something...since orange implies the item being somewhat a "legendary"

Just, sigh...i'm so, so dissapointed lately by this game management, really... or should i say their player database treatment instead? i wont be surprised if the game shuts its doors by the next year now... already starting to lose interest

So you're going to put this statement on the Arc page advertising the companions, right?

Because its highly misleading at the moment. You could even say it was a bait and switch if you actually bought in since nothing on the page indicates this or offers a direct link to the wiki, and as another poster has pointed out already - it shows a level 1 purple quality cleric.

Okay I'm lost here... do we get the (Faithful Initiate) or (Cleric Disciple) Companion for the 5 Coalescent Ward on 7/26-7/27? Also, why is its name in purple if from what I'm reading here is right and you really only get green companion rewards? 5000 Zen ($50.oo) seems a bit high for a green lvl companion don't you think. I wish someone would fix the picture and other stuff so others don't waste money not knowing they will get green lvl and not purple lvl companion(s)... If I got a purple at rank 1 I could see doing it, but for a green rank 1 don't think so... I really wanted to get the &-26-7/27 reward but I guess I wont be unless I found out you get a Purple companion for the 5 Coalescent Wards... B(

You realize that you are paying 5000 zen for 5x coal wards right? The green companion is a free bonus gift.

You are misrepresenting your argument just like this advertisement was

Yes, I said in the 1st line about the 5 Coalescent Ward... I also side it was a reward aka for buying the 5 Coalescent Wards, if I buy one of the game packs I get a purple companion for all toons and this would be about the same thing here... My biggest problem here was it shows a purple name and two dif names as well for the one reward (7/26 - 7/27) and now reading its a green!!! I'm not at all misrepresenting anything in my post... But I can tell you this much... there are going to be a lot of pissed off people if the advertisement isn't fixed before they spend money thinking they are getting a purple companion for the buying 5 Coalescent Wards and get a green one...

    Well, at least the

    Faithful Initiate Companion

you get for investing 5k ZEN is BoE, so you can trade him in to lessen the strain on your wallet!
If it ain't purple at least there is an alternative use for it.

And we have another customer misled! It's the cleric disciple that's BOE, the faithful initiate is BOP.

Maybe the green Faithful Initiate Companion is initially BoP, but after upgrading to purple it becomes BoE?

OK, so as I understand it then all the companions you get from this promotion are GREEN? i.e. uncommons?

Please note that at this stage with 11 hours left for the first qualifying day, the page has still not been updated or clarified. This is appalling customer service and even worse PR - c'mon you guys can do better than this.

This all falls under the fact that they really need a Senior Editor or a Copy Writer to proof all this before they post it.
They are way beyond bad marketing techniques and falling right into purposeful mislabeling and Mileading marketing.

Bingo. I'd say it was deliberate too.

Uh, no. It's not even possible for it to work that way. In order to upgrade a companion you have to have it actually use-bound, and it has to be already at the max rank for its quality. If I want, say, a purple Renegade Evoker on my GWF, I have to first acquire the companion via either AH or VT chest, equip it, thus binding it, level it to 20, pay 500,000 AD(lolno), level it again to 25, pay another 750,000 AD(even more lolno), and then finally level it to 30, during which time it's always been permanently bound.

I just want to know for sure if the (Day 3) 7/26 - 7/27 reward is a green or a purple companion... 5000 Zen is a lot, yes you get the 5 Coalescent Wards but still I think you should get a purple for a buy of that much... it's just takes way too much to get a companion from green to purple to spend 5k Zen to get a green companion reward imo. I would like it if someone would please tell us for sure if the companions rewards are all greens aka uncommon or not...

They're all green companions. The reason they're showing a level 1 epic companion in the screenshot is to deliberately mislead you.

To verify them being green: http://nw-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?714991-Refinement-rewards&p=8496841&viewfull=1#post8496841

"Never ascribe to malice that which is adequately explained by incompetence."

Have to agree with this. They've made a lot of mistakes in their game, so I'd say it's likely another mistake. It doesn't make it ok, but at least it wasn't deliberate. Whether they're deliberately hurting players in other ways, I can't tell though.

I used to get called a fan boy for sticking up for a game I thought was poorly done just because I had the moderator title. Kind of amazing how many things you can actually defend even when a game has been done so badly. But I guess that's what happens when people are unfairly critical. I personally try to be critical on only what I feel is fair, whether it be for an incompetent company doing some things right, or an amazing company who could do better. Unfortunately cryptic keep giving me more reasons to be critical. Still the 'game' I moved from was a lot worse than this, even if I think there's been a lot of management problems.

its so sad to read all these comments... a game like this, starting to fall apart... only becasue of a stupid and poor management skills.

It seems they need cash to keep developing, but the way they are getting it, with misleading + misspelling advertisement.

It took 2 hours to redefine the notes about dragonborn yesterday, and the new promo event is sooo well misleading with those purple companion pictures. Marketing strategy? Seems. (not to mention about the Armored Polar Bear... so much mystery around, not even replied with offical post in the blog, but by some mod post hidden somewhere in some threads )

Its getting worse. Too greedy. For now im not going to support until i see some changing in the marketing ... they should punish who made this mess.

Hire better ppl. Lets see how it goes till mod 4.

Closing this up now, for the accusations and legal insinuations are out of line here. If you have an issue with this, please file a Support Ticket. The forums are not the place for such.

As I said, all companions are shown at their initial quality on the Official Wiki and we have long-been showing a companions full potential in promotions. Furthermore, the companion stats shown are of a fully leveled companion and common sense should ring a bell that you're not going to be getting a fully leveled rank 30 companion.

It's not like you're getting a different companion than the one stated just because the depiction shows its full potential. You still get that same companion and its up to you if you want to upgrade it or not.

The only real issues here is that the error in the display of the Cleric Disciple at rank 30. That should be showing the Faithful Initiate instead, as stated in the prior sentence to that image. As well as the Skeletal Dog - as it has been released in two different quality ranks, Common and Rare. When we get word on whether the Charge Reward Skeletal Dog will be Common or Rare when claimed, we'll update this or some other relevant thread.

    Safe travels,
