Protector vs Conqueror GF

Looking at the upcoming changes to the GF for mod4, and the state of things right now I began to wonder as I level up my GF and look to the future for pure tanking is protector going to be the go-to path to buff shield and everything else with the changes? Is protector more go-to now? I've been curious and believed most current guides and builds show conqueror being taken presumably for the lack of the GF's DPS to be semi-successful in the current meta but is there another reason I'm missing? Is there a preferred recommendation between the two?

    My recommendation is always the same: play the one you enjoy more.
    If you want to maximize tanking and utility go Prot.
    If you want to increase your damage go Conqueror.

    As klangeddin said play the one you preffer.

    I have always ran conqueror. I have tried all 3 but i prefer this.

    But don't make the mistake of thinking of you go protector you dmg will be bad or if you go conq your defense will be bad because its not true :)

    Excellent responses and thank you guys! Sometimes we have a habit of over-thinking things so am just going to pick one and run with it and can try em all out as I go!

    I chose Conq, as I am a pvper and massive Prot builds are not as useful in Dominations. However in Opvp a Conq GF will not have an easy time dispatching a Prot GF!

    Also Conq kills quest mobs faster so, that's my only reasoning.

    if you want to actually do great in pve and be the loved one in the party you have to go Tactician, is already the best path and seems to be even better with the changes on into the fray and some feats. probably the best for pvp too... unless being a turtle is your focus.

    I have a Conqueror, and she will remain that way.. hopefully one day they will rework it so that the tree actually does what it CLAIMS it does. It did, once upon a time.. sort of.
    My new GF is full tank all the way.. and is having a blast leveling up. Haven't decided between Tact or Prot yet. 2 levels to go til I have to choose..

    i beg to differ on that regarding domination as prot it usually takes 3 people to come effectively clear me from a node which is the point of domination holding nodes sure i dont get 20+ kills but on the regular i go about 12-15kills and at most 3-4 deaths depending on team comp.

    I do personally find conq the best for pvp, it has the most dmg and its still very tanky if you have the right equip. A good amount of dmg and survivability is needed so don't just go all our dps or something try to make an all round strong char.

    Anyway I'm a conq and have 15.5k gs on live and a none payer and i do pretty good in pvp with my build.
