Active companions unequipped

I logged on my GF and saw that all his active companions were in his inventory. I didn't take them off him.

I thought this was weird, cause not only did they not go into the inactive companion area if I had unequipped them myself, on accident, but they were once again Bind on Pickup (as if they were never equipped at all). They were still the same upgrades and had their runestones. Also prompted me to name them when I re-equipped them to him (like you do when you first equip a companion).

My toon was in Icewind Dale at the time I logged on.

    Change your password and check the rest of your account. I have reason to suspect that this is a hacking security matter.

    will do, thanks. Everything else seems to be there and in order, no enchants, AD, or other items missing

    You will make many people happy if you can reproduce this bug and write explanations how to do it :)
