So I'm coming back to the game and I have some specific questions.

So I'm waiting on support and I'm playing on the ptr while I wait, I've been playing the SW and I'm starting to try to figure out some theorycraft. Anyways there were a bunch of changes while I was gone with mod 3 and the pvp patch right before it.

My questions have to due with mostly the effect of the pvp changes. There was a lot with crit severity and control resist. So as I get ready to get back into things:

How is crit severity, vorpal probably didn't lose anything in pve from what I've seen but how much did it lose in pvp? Is terror / plaguefire the way to go now?

How is control resist, if you get a racial bonus does it add to the racial bonus or is the bonus multiplicative? Are racial bonuses like halflings resist worth it still? Is there a diminishing return on control bonus?

Any changes to deflection with all of this? I didn't see any but I want to be sure.

How did healing depression fallout with soulforged? Soulforged still one of the top armor chants in pvp or are things like barkshield without contest better now?

I'll probably have some more specific questions later but thanks in advance for the responses.

Vorpal and Soulforged are still doing great in pvp, especially Soulforged. Not sure if HD affects Soulforged since it comes after auto-resurrection so technically all debuffs should be off then, but most people use Soulforged for pvp for sure. Plaguefire is viable in arena, but in open world pvp it can put you at disadvantage due to the bugged bonus from new cockatrice companions (10% chance to root the attacker when the owner is damaged, which procs all the time with plaguefire - and other dot - ticks).

No changes to deflection afaik, except they supposedly fixed the bug with cc getting deflected.

Not sure how the control resist is calculated, to be honest, but I do think devs mentioned some diminishing returns on it (to avoid people running around with 100% control resist from companions, etc.).

Vorpal still great and looks like the best option for almost all classes, except by GWF and TR.

Soulforged is an broken mechanic who will be on top forever

Greater Plaguefire is the best option for HR/GWF.

    P. Vorpal is best option for DC/CW.

    P. Bilethorn is best option for TR.

    Not sure about GF.

    Not sure about GF.

Greater Plaguefire, Perfect Feytouched or Prefect Bronzewood are all good on GFs.
