I was away for a week and missed the m3 launch, so I'm just getting into it now. I just earned my first PvP boon, and was wondering what you all thought the most useful pvp boons were for DCs. Anyone that's already earned your boons or tested them out on the preview shard tell us what you found, inquiring minds want to know!
Here's my preliminary, untested thoughts (descriptions from gamepedia):
T1:
- Supply Line: You gain 250 Movement while flagged for PvP. Allies within 10 feet of you get half this bonus. (Can not stack with itself.)
- Living Wall: You gain 125 Defense and 125 Deflect while flagged for PvP.
- Legion's Valor: You gain 125 Power and 125 Critical Strike while flagged for PvP.
** I went with living wall, since I attempt to play fairly tanky and cover #2 about 90% of the time during a match, so I gambled that stacking more defense/deflect would outweigh having another dodge. But power and crit could be nice too...
T2:
- Combat Triage: Allies near you who take damage are granted 300 hit points over 6 seconds while you are flagged for PvP. (Does not stack.)
- Inspiring Defense: Nearby allies gain up to 10% additional damage resistance as their health decreases while you are flagged for PVP. (Does not stack)
- Vanguard's Resolve: Players who strike you grant you 100 Power for 8 seconds. Each foe can only add 100 at a time (Max 500)
** Combat triage seems like a total waste. I'm not sure if I'll go with inspiring defense or vanguard's resolve. Inspiring defense would probably be better for team, but vanguard's resolve will help your heal and damage output. and for the (frequent) times when you're attempting to hold a point by yourself, inspiring defense won't be as helpful. Now that I'm typing it out, does "nearby allies" include you? hmmm.
T3:
- Versatile Warrior: You gain 150 Power and 150 Recovery whenever an ally or enemy is within 20 feet of you while flagged for PvP.
- Tactical Redeployment: You gain 25% additional movement speed when there are no enemy or allied players within 20 feet of you while flagged for PvP. (This effect does not work if you have recently been damaged by a player)
- Unbroken Line: You gain 85 Defense for each teammate within 20 feet of you while flagged for PvP. (Max of 5 players)
- Wicked Assault: You gain 85 Life Steal for each enemy player within 20 feet of you while flagged for PvP. (Max of 5 players)
** I'm leaning towards versatile warrior - a straight stat boost instead of the others, which seem more situational? I dunno. I've got a while to think about it, since you need 18/30 complete tasks to get the third boon, and I am at... 4. :P

T2 is more interesting. with all the damage I take and with the healing I can sustain myself with low hp. I guess inspiring def is not bad
vanguard resolve looks ok, but correct me if I am wrong, healer pvp use only half of his power as healing, so the total effect is low
T3 as you said, versatile warrior look more simple (25% speed of tactical redeployment looks nice but no allied players / recently damaged wont trigger it at all, well in case it will you can use a mount I guess)
Does 'allies' also include yourself?
Need to know the answer to these question before can make an informed decision.
I'm only a few days away from the second boon (I think). Maybe I'll get VR just to test it out.
Where it really shines is surprisingly in Icewind Dale PvE. It gives my +0% movement speed CW enough walk speed in Heroic Encounters that I can basically avoid most enemies with walking away from them when I'm not casting control spells or teleporting. Increases survivability a lot. It has had some hilarious side effect though, as I must first run to get the pvp flag, many Colleagues from the opposing side has thought me a tempting target and I have been forced to kill them with group control spells pre and post Tyranny of Dragons. I can feel their shame trough the monitor being killed with Steal Time and SotEA...
By the way, npc's and non-pvp-flagged players are not considered to be allies or enemies by Tactical Redeployment and 20 feet is teleport range, so it is nearly never that TacRed goes offline in Icewind Dale, except when you are taking damage.
Just keep in mind that you can't resurrect non-pvp-flagged players when flagged and vice versa, so if you go down in encounter, you probably stay down (One word: Soulforged).
Vanguard's Resolve is nice to have with CW. It nicely boosts your damage when you are near your most dangerous foes, meaning GWF and TR and are fighting for your life. Sadly, I never seem to have time to see if I get 5 stacks or just one when in such situation for some reason.
I would very much like to know more about how the others work for my secondary characters. The same questions I have been asking have been asked here already, so I'm not going to repeat them, just ask that please someone in the know provide answers.
