Black Ice - PVP - Boons for Mod 3

I am having trouble finding info I am looking for. Pretty straight forward questions. (I am a PVE player)
Is Black Ice necessary (and therefore the crafting of black ice)?
If black ice gear isn't just for PVP, does it make that much of a difference?
I hate to admit, but I have wandered into PVP trying to complete those "quests" and when anyone form the other "side" approaches I just "Obi Wan Kan-obi" (sorry about messing up your stats) and go respawn.

This corrupted/purified stuff is just fro PVP right? I don't really desire grinding for stuff that is only going to be used in this one area. I never return to an are once I am done with it.

In other words can I complete the PVE areas with out the gear (or is it almost impossible to complete with out the gear)

Is there a way/time to go in there without messing up the folks that want to PVP (sorry I want the goodies and experience). Also, Is it possible to have a respawn right next to the PVP area? I have like 225 deaths and no kills (but some how have a "win", what ever that means). It is a awfully long way to run/ride back to the area.

The PvP boons are not active unless fighting other players(in flagged open world, domination or GG) and thus if you truely have no interest in PvP, you do not need to do these quests.
Black Ice gear, fully empowered has more stats than any other gear in the game and also allows for entry into the epic difficulty Kessel's Retreat skirmish.
As far as boons.... I understand that the PVP boons only work in PVP.
My question was more about any coins, tears, experience, etc.
Since I don't really want to to PVP I would be happy to log in and have "extra" PVE quests (some way to opt out of PVP entirely), and still get the stuff. As of now I think the only way to get everything that is available is to do the PVP stuff and just "lie down" when somebody on the other team heads my way.
I do try to play during times when I think the area will be slow so that I don't "bother" the people that like to PVP.
I actually had a person from the other side completely ignore me the other day. So they were either doing the same thing that I was doing or understood that I cared nothing about PVP

The PvP quests only offer XP, a little silver and progression in the PvP campaign. They offer no rewards that progress the IWD campaign.
What I have learned>
I do not need Black Ice Gear/refining (it is only useful in this area).
Ignoring the PVP stuff slows down the PVE absolutely zero (I do not need any of it to open the other areas).
Observations as of now>
It appears that there really (at least for me) was not much in this module.
Gear I do not need/want, a profession to make gear I do not need/want.
a large portion of a map where I should not go.
40% of the quests I should not take (PVP quests)
What I need to know now>
Do I need to open the other areas to finish out the boons in the module?
Any advice on completing them as quick a possible would be appreciated. I essentially would like to get the boons here and then wait till August and try again.
