Sooo....the title should be pretty self-explanatory
Anyway, I dropped this game back in last june/july after getting too tired of the ridiculously in-balanced PvP, the constant memory leaks and insane FPS drops in dungeons etc. BUT, it's been almost a year and i feel this game might deserve a second chance (i did enjoy to be honest, but back then it simply was too flawed for my liking), so i have fairly simple question:
has the game improved, generally speaking? Or maybe it is as bad (ok, not bad, but riddled with several nuances of varying magnitudes) as it was? Or maybe even worse?
Also, if anyone would be kind enough, i would greatly appreciate if someone could in few (or not so few, suite yourself) words explain the most major changes that have affected the game? Or at least point me in a direction where i could read up on it myself? Since browsing trough a year's worth of posts here seems "just a bit" overwhelming for me

Some mod will come and close this but I'll aware you a little bit. I'm assuming you PVP-Only since that was your main reason of quitting... so I'll only talk about PVP.
Let's say that PVP was better back then IMO. Now you have perma-stealth TR's (Yes perma-stealth. Invisible 100% of the time) and GWF is the most powerful class in PVP right now. They used to be able to face-tank 5v1 in PVP (No joke). It took a whole team to take down a GWF. They toned them down lately, but they're still able to 3v1 and sometimes even 4v1.
So if you aren't well-geared then do not step in PVP domination. There's also module 3 coming which looks AMAZING but the open world PVP will be an horror. Even worse than the current domination. I'm not complaining about domination since I'm well geared.. but someone who has been inactive for a while will get turned-off by domination VERY quickly.
EDIT: I forgot, there are Artifacts now as well who made domination worse IMO.
One of the many Control Wizards that misses Shard Of The Endless Avalanche. RIP Shard (Beta-Mod3)
tenacity was added which increases damage resistance, crit damage resistance and control resistance against other players. if you have the original gauntlegrym pvp set, you can trade it in for a set with tenacity in the trade of blades. the idea behind tenacity is to lower burst damage and increase survivability. a character without any tenacity gear has a base tenacity of 10% resistance.
an elo rating system was also added attached to a new matchmaking system.
and there is now a leaver penalty. if you quit a pvp match before it ends, your character will be unable to queue for anything for 30 minutes. if you get disconnected from the match, you can still return to the match before it is over and not be penalized. if two other players from your team has quit, you can leave and not be penalized.
there are varied opinions about these changes as you can tell from the above messages and i would suggest that you jump into the game and check it out for yourself since it's free to play. there have been a few graphical optimizations which may have corrected the memory leaks you experienced before. there is also an entirely new module dropping on may 13th which includes a new type of pvp. you can actually log in and check that out on the preview shard right now.
because of the varied opinions we usually lock these threads. we'd rather you get your own impressions and make your own mind on the content and changes since you last played.
