High Vizier Set still better than all the rest of the pvp sets?

Hey guys, i was just wondering if i should switch out my HV set for the Grim/Profound Thaum sets or another pvp set that you would recommend for CW Renegade. I do decent damage but idk if I would benefit more with the pvp sets. I know Tenacity is great for pvp but is it worth it to replace High Viziers Debuff Bonus set? Thanks.

I used to PvP with a Champions Mage set and that was fine with my existing jewellery. The new sets have quite a different set of stats on them from PvE gear and seem to force you to fully spec for PvP with PvP jewellery too. I use HV for GG, but the powers you tend to slot for 5 man don't trigger the debuffs enough to make it worthwhile imo.

The difference between the Grim and Profound is minor - I'd get a couple of Grim sets and see which stat distribution suits your playstyle most, with Thaum giving a stack of HP and Oppressor a stack of power for instance.

Putting the Buff into Debuff since 2013 \o/ (Does that even make sense)?

Need tenacity, without it you will die in 2 hits.

Tenacity ~ Effects how much damage you do and take

Tenacity ~ Effects how much CC resistance you do and take

Without Tenacity ~ you do far less damage even with PvE gear, and are susceptible to more damage and longer prone times... So yes, pvp gear is not only worth it , its a MUST!

~ GF Buffs were great we are much better, please fix the bugs now... Thank you!

Eh, you will die in 2 hits even with tenacity gear.

I would say, using a HV set and Profound jewelry is a reasonable compromise.

I have the Thaum Grim set, and to be honest I might as well be fighting naked. It doesn't seem to help much at all.

How does tenacity affect how much damage you do? More up time?

In directly relating to Healing Depression they call it, maybe not related to Tenacity? I thought it was... http://nw-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?582751-Cryptic-OFFICIAL-Tenacity-Feedback-Thread

    Addition of Healing Depression

When struck by a player in PVP you will suffer Healing Depression for 10 seconds. This effect Reduces the effectiveness of incoming heals and Temporary Hit Points by 50%. This effect is refreshed by taking damage from a player.
This healing depression will affect all sources of healing, including but not limited to Regeneration, Life Steal, Soulforged, and Class Powers. Potions are currently not affected by this, but will need further balancing with these changes.

I still don't follow how that is increasing your output, unless you mean by staying alive longer you can keep dishing out pain. Healing depression will still apply, regardless of how much tenacity you have.

How many HP do you have? If you are running with 20-25k, yes... you will go down fast... if you are above 30k, it makes a HUGE difference.

HV is in my bags when I PvP, Im rolling around with teh champion mage set until I can complete the rest of my ppfound set next week.

The problem I have with HV is the lack of HP. You basically get regen instead, but if I have to choose between the two, I'll take HP.

A big problem is that two big stats on it are Recovery and Deflection, both of which aren't the best to stack on a PVP CW.

And yes, the amount of tenacity that you lose is a big deal. Not to mention profound set has a higher overall stat count and its effect gives your meatball a much needed boost in DPS and cooldown

Well my CW has about 25k HP. (Yes, it's a PVE CW.) So honestly for me it doesn't matter what armor set I use. So I will stick with the HV since it's got all the nice enchants in it, and I'll throw on some PVP jewelry for a little bit of tenacity (although I'm starting to rethink that decision).

Wasnt there a discussion on the soft capping of tenacity? That stacking every slot wast wasting stats on other things?

    Just wanted to know..

On my DC, I never play with more then 6 slots, sometimes drop to 4 honestly. You lose alot of valuable stats to stack tenacity alone.

My CW is still a baby and Im using HV until I can afford profound, I dont see the sense of grinding for grim honestly, for one thing I dont like running GG back to back to back to swap it over.

The profound set isn't really worth it.Unless it's got for the spell mastery boosts. The stat changes from grim to it are no more than 10-20 points from what I seen.

Though I am debating the profound set with non pvp rings, neck and belt. And maybe a weapon offhand set.But haven't looked into it yet.

Best thing to do though for any of us is to try things see how they work and go with what you like best. The goal of any game is to have fun after all.

I dunno, I'm running with 2 parts gladiator and 2 parts grim thaum for the double recovery and pve jewelry. HP about 25k, I still die all the time, and yet, kill a whole bunch of people, I think for pvp, as a cw, you've just got to accept you're going to get slaughtered a lot, and go high dps, so at least you can take some of them out while they're trying to close on you. I pray for good gwfs on my pug teams.

I know from my pvp HR that stacking more than 1000 tenacity is a waste of stats, go for defence and deflect if you really want to be more tanky once you reach that point, but really, a tanky cw is a bit of a pipe-dream. Accept your limits and go for the nuclear dps option.
No idea what my toon is now.

yeah that is what i was thinking...since we die so easily I might as well go off with a BANG! I end up with Double Digit Kills followed by Double Digit Deaths LOL.
