A discussion I had with a Harper upon completing one of Neverembers jobs for hire.
Ah yes, Lord Neverember had that large gaudy chest delivered for you when you returned.
A single guard dropped it off and didn't break a sweat, so I assume it's filled with worthless trinkets and perhaps a moldy old weapon or armor.
I often wonder if Lord Neverember has forgotten the difficult life of an adventurer, or perhaps a charge is diverting the best items into a personal stash.
But, whatever is left in there is yours -- good luck.
Neverember's "reward" -- a Dungeoneering Skill Kit. In a giant chest. I almost didn't see it.
Be still my heart. Um... can I keep that fancy chest?
Maybe I can pry off some paste jewels and sell them in Protectors Enclave.
Perhaps Neverember has become a doting old fool. But, I think that if 3 goblin archers pooled their loose change they could out-bid Neverember's mercenary rewards maybe it's time to look for employment elsewhere.
Comments
There are some questions that you must ask yourself. Do you support the nashers that openly work with wererats and all maner of vile monsters? Should you support the Demons that plague this very city?
In other words, this world perfectly mimics ours. No real good picks, and all are P$%ks.
while I have no love for "Lord" Neverember, he is called the "Protector" because he pays all those guards (*Cough* MERCENARIES *cough*) to protect the city
as prejudicial as he is, Neverwinter would not exist as it is right now without him, so until the city can find a more rightful and/or compassionate benefactor, we're stuck with him
so your saying we should kill him and take neverwinter for ourselves...
I wonder if he pays those guards in Skill Kits and a 15cp "Giant Golden Pearl?"

WTB Class Reroll please
You get better rewards by pushing a button to "Roll a D20" for Sword Coast Adventures than you do spending an hour questing. (...or even by using a skill node!)
Embarrassing.
