Hey, I just finished buying this set with the spare tokens I had from MC runs, I understand HV is currently our best set to run, but does anyone know how Fabled Iliyanbruen compares? Thanks in advance

It is good for personal damage, but not for group support.

Fabled Iliyanbruen...makes a nice fey-themed skin for your High Vizier set.

They need to take most of the Fabled and Dread Legion sets and turn them into free transmutation rewards since that's all most players will use them for. Don't even get me started again on the DC version of Dread Legion, because this is the wrong forum for that particular whine.

If you are doing cn and the other 2 wizards are going full hv it makes a decent half set with the dread legion for an extra 900 power

2 piece dread legion + 2 piece fabled ilyanbruen is really good personal dps. I run it because their's normally another high viz wiz in my group and I like to scumbag dps :)

900 Power doesn't translate to a huge damage increase. Probably better off with Shadow Weaver's buff.

lol as you like, but it's true. Have you actually checked your damage tooltips with and without the added Power?

On tooltip, 900 damages will give +36 damages. But spell have power coefficient that we don't know.

Is it comparable with a 4-pieces bonus think increase damage by a good percent ? I don't think. But I'm curious about damage's tool-tip value with/without for a few spell (SHard, CoI, IS, etc).

CWs that leech off from other guys just for personal DPS are just lame. Put that SW set on if you think there are too many HV CWs in the group. Nobody cares cause OMG you ended up with 1 more million at the end of the run or something, not to mention that most of the people that ditch HV for 2/2 have absolutely no guarantees they will even land on top of Paingiver.

Basically, do your job and help the group with additional buffs/debuffs, as needed.

Sidenote: if you're a thaum and don't run CoI the same applies to you. Seen many lately that go with either CS/shard,SS,steal time or SS/shard,icy,steal time.

Again, do your job and provide the CoI debuf, regardless if there are 3-4 others CWs with it in the party.

And we return to the question : is the CW a support/control class or an AOE dps class ? I vote for the first.

The CW was, is and will ever be: both.

    Exactly.

No CW who is controlling properly will ever do anything less than respectable damage.
No CW who aims for high DPS can avoid using effective control.

There are ways to skew more towards either DPS or control, but it's not possible to do one effectively without doing the other. The CW's role is to provide both to a group.

Hv is best for spell storm because the crit is wasted on the spell storm.

Sw is great for MoF Cws as they really need the crit.

In pvp I am testing champion Mage, before that I used the fabled set, and it performed well, but in dungeons with a control bar phantom echo does basically nothing.

And lupita, 2+2 is either for noobs or dps whiles. I hate selfish players, so remind me to never group with you.

    Selfish? Its simple math!

If you got more lots more dps than the others you should raise your own dps. If the others overall dps is comparable to your own put on HV to buff them.
