It must be great. It must have PVP as good as wow once was. It must have story telling and an open world like Skyrim. It must have a community that is friendly and helpful like Star Wars Galaxies. It must have user creator tools like the Neverwinter foundry. It must have fantastic graphics like The Elder scrolls online. It must have professions that are interesting like A realm reborn. It must be available to play now. It must be online. ;)

Any recommendations?

Someday there may be an MMO with everything top of the class, or at least competitive with others. It's an awful lot to ask of developers, though (though the "helpful community" bit doesn't depend on the developers' abilities.)

    My turn!
    • lore, total immersion (especially starter area variety), universe scale, content continuity and size, raid-level group combat, macro and UI mod system, Armory and Achievements of WoW
    • depth of class design, open group levelling, and limitless quest item-only storage in Rift
    • action combat engine and destructable environments of Vindictus/Mabinogi Heroes
    • combat fluidity, high skill-based and pace of 1v1 pvp in Dragon Nest
    • amazing community, single-player friendliness and seamless story immersion of Lord of the Rings
    • stunning graphics, non-linear open-world PvE, group combat flexibility and instanced gear-independent pvp (rewards suck tho) of Guild Wars 2
    • refreshing art, completely new races (Elin ftw!), 3D structure design, fantastic looking gear and emotes of Tera
    • extreme character customization, extreme vehicle customization, scale of pvp in Eve Online
    • extreme character modification, i.e. SOEmote, and house decoration of Everquest II
    • deep martial arts and grappling of Blade & Soul (dwarf throwing, ftw!) and Age of Wushu (grappling hook, ftw!)
    • comedy and random unexpectedness in Wildstar
    • dark realism (beheadings ftw!), environmental and weather effects, mounted fighting, music and atmosphere of Age of Conan
    • serious combat pets of Firefall and Global Agenda
    • vehicle variety and control systems (though maybe not vehicle weaponry) of Planetside II
    • open world pvp and crime system, persistent player property and vehicles, many travelling options, mounts as pets, and gliding of Archeage
    • gathering system of Vanguard (Tera's shared and emoted gathering system is cute too but no group enhancements)
    • crafting and harvesting of (old)Star Wars Galaxies
    • terraforming of Wurm
    • open-ended skill system and ruthless free-for-all pvp looting (better make that just a - rewardable - option) from Darkfall
    • character selection, functional building rooms and newspapers/scanners of City of Heroes
    • fun core combat design of Neverwinter
    • greatly expanded and rewarding Foundry/custom player maps of Neverwinter
    • ...

That's the idea, although Dragon Nest is not what I'm looking for in PVP too many flashing lights. :p
