Purple to Gold Artifacts: How Much Did it Cost?

Hey all,

I'm trying to get an estimate of how much it costs to make a purple artifact (level 60), to gold (level 100).

Anyone have any rough estimates? Thanks, Trace

The maximum AD you should be paying for a single Refinement Point is 6 since there is an item in the Wondrous bazaar that costs (I think) 30K AD and gives 5000 RP.

If you divide the total upgrade costs in RP between artifact level 60 to 100 by six then this gives the maximum cost in AD.

I just checked the gamepedia article (http://neverwinter.gamepedia.com/Artifact) and it takes about 3.5 million RP to get an artifact from level 60 to level 100.

So at worst that should be around 3.5*6 = 18 million AD if artifacts only get the standard bonus from RP items.

Now, if you look for cheap RP/AD enchants (try rank 1-4) then you might get the cost down to 3 or 4 AD per RP and AFAIK artifacts get double bonus from enchantments/runestones (or they did before the last patch). So best case scenario about 5 million AD.

    Also check this thread:

Unless you are very rich you are probably best off just leveling an artifact to 30 as you get nearly 1/3 the maximum stats for 1/10 the price to fully upgrade it.

Seems the most economical RP generator is the lesser Fey Enchant right now. 25k RP for 20k AD and some Sharandar Farm time, as the enchant requires seeds/charms/blades and sparks. Still far and away the best bang for your AD.

Well given you can sell it for 70K on the AH (so it really gives 25K RP for 63K AD) it isn't quite that fantastic, but even so 2.5 AD per RP is by far the best deal around. Try some of the purple companion runestones too as I believe they offer around 1 RP / 3AD too.

Here is some useful info about the best RP/AD items:

Please see this link before dumping refining points into your artifact http://neverwinter.gamepedia.com/Artifact . Also keep in mind, shards and enchantments fed into artifacts get double RP, but refining stones such as power/stability/union stones and RP items such as peridot DO NOT give double RP. It is good to break down your different RP options into AD to RP ratio, for example Flawless Sapphire is 30k AD in Wondrous Bazaar vendor, giving 5K RP, so 6 AD:1 RP ratio. Lesser tranquil/indomitable/serene runestones give 12960 (25920 for artifacts) and costs about 80k AD, so 3.08 AD: 1 RP ratio. Rank 66 artifact give 80% of the stat points of a rank 100 artifact, and costs about ten times less AD to upgrade.

Trace, I would say it depends on your cost of materials and crit success, but I would say in the neighborhood of 7-10mil including getting the reagents.

3.5M RP + 5 Greater Marks of Potency.
    3.5M x RP::AD + 5 x GMP ~ between 4M and 11M, with RP::AD between 1 and 3. Similar to the cost of a Rank 10 or Perfect.

Keep in mind that the only difference between Rank 99 and 100 is the 'Use' effect and its cooldown, so can save between 0.7M and 1.0M if you don't intend to 'Use' the artifact.

Yeah, but if you're farming it, it comes out to less than 1 AD per RP. It's just the time investment of running Sharandar dailies in order to meet the other requirements. If you're anything like me, you probably finished Sharandar with some extras as far as the requirements go. I think I was able to craft 3 of these in 3 days and only had to run the Arcane Reservoir and one set of run for the charms. That's 75k RP for 60k AD with a small time investment.

As you could sell it for 70-80K in the AH (so you get 63-72K AD) then that is the correct value for comparison. So suppose I have a lesser Fey Enchant then I can:

    A) Use it for RP and gain 25K RP.

    B) Sell it and gain 63-72K AD.

So you are trading getting 25K RP for 65-70ish AD because of opportunity costs. Regardless it is a great way to get cheap RP.

i got two epics and one blue. trying to focus the waters to legendary to get the maximum regen i can, but it is going slow. I burned all the AD I had, including some enchantments I was not using like some azures9,10. and it is still only ranking 91. I decided to level it slower doing dgs sometimes, dropping enchantments with feyblessing and so on...
