i am a gateway-aholic as it provides me the opportunity to handle profession tasks, the auction house, refining AD and soon, we'll be able to run our companions on mini-adventures with "sword coast adventures". it's really a great tool for when we can't be in-game.
there have been suggestions in the past and i know this has been mentioned by andy velasquez in the somewhat recent IRC chat concerning being able to invoke on the gateway. of course, the whole purpose of invoking is it's an incentive to log in and play. of course, sometimes life happens and we're not necessarily able to be around a computer and then we're penalized by losing all of our celestial coins.
what if we had a pop-up when we logged into the gateway that indicated how much time had elapsed since our last invoke? in addition to that, what if there was a button to reset the timer to prevent the loss of celestial coins? this could be construed as a quick invoke or perhaps a brief mediation... maybe a passing thought about your deity. this would not be a full invoke, but just an option for people on the go who occasionally cannot log into the game.
and for when that can't happen, perhaps change the loss of all your celestial coins to just one for every day that you do not log into the game or the gateway to "quick pray".
would you guys use such an option? got other ideas? post them here!
thanks to old zeb for the suggestion about reducing the loss of celestial coins per day.

. . . . .Indeed, I agree with all of this. The thing I want to stress the most in my desire is to make it so Celestial Coins only decay at a rate of 1 loss per day that one misses their invocation, instead of loosing them all.
soon, we'll be able to run our companions on mini-adventures with "sword coast adventures".
Been traveling a lot lately and must have missed some things -- what are these? Is this part of Module 2 that I didn't catch?
Also, +1 on Zeb's suggestion to lose only 1 celestial coin when you fail to invoke. Tymora might be upset if I miss a day, but she wouldn't take ALL her love away for a simple oversight.
Great ideas and, as a fellow gateway-aholic, I support them too!
As a piggyback, here are my current pet suggestions for the GW: the ability to identify unidentified items (assuming you have scrolls available), the ability to add/receive items on mail messages (or at least some way to move items between characters on the same account), and my favorite, can we get a display of the daily event calendar somewhere?
I'd really like the event calendar one; first thing I do in the morning is hop onto the GW and it would be great to see the next few hours/days worth of events. It would make planning the day around DD (or whatever) runs easier.

The short answer is that is a dice game where you send 4 of your companions on adventures. It should be coming with module 2 and it is awesome.

I like the idea, but i would also add the fact that the invocation granting (or lossing) the coins should be per day and not per 24h, this week i lost my coins in 3 of my 4 chars due to social obligations that kept me away until late at night.
How did this happen, i have no idea but it should count 3 invocations per in-game day instead of every 24h passing from the first time you invoke.

Could we add the view officer notes in the gateway roster view to this wishlist:)
A notification on Gateway as to the time of the next needed invocation is a nice idea. There is no need for a 'reset' button. Logging in in a timely fashion to maintain coins is hardly demanding. Changing it to a loss of one a day rather than all upon failure isn't a bad idea.
I think that Gateway should show two things for Celestial Coins:
1. Reset Timer - the same as that shown in-game. This is the time until you will lose your Celestial Coins if you do not log in and Invoke.
2. Start Timer - not shown in-game. This is time left until the earliest you can Invoke again.
I do not agree with invoking via the Gateway, instead of logging in. That would pretty much defeat the whole point of the mechanic.

Completely separately,
I do agree that losing ALL of your Celestial Coins just by missing one login is extremely harsh and well disproportionate to the benefit the coins provide. It can also happen by accident just due to long maintainances (especially consecutive long maintanances) or something else entirely, like, you know, "having a life"...
It's not as if you're getting something for nothing if you were instead to lose only one coin per period. You still have to login to actually get anything. So, the current system is effectively a double whammy against up to 7-days of committment already shown to the game.
I too am a fellow gateway-aholic. Admitting it is the first step.
I don't think the quick pray/reset button/etc is something that should be on gateway as it is like was stated in the first post, an incentive to log in and play. I've had times where I had to travel and was unable to log in and pray, but I knew that I'd lose my coins and just had to accept that. To make it something available on gateway would almost be an easy out. It would take away that incentive. That being said, it does really suck to lose all progress, especially if I'm one day away from getting the 7/7, so losing just one a day is a good idea I think.
I also like the idea of being able to see the events calendar on gateway. My play time tends to be limited between taking care of kids and just life in general. To be able to keep up with what may be happening when I am going to be able to log on in game would be cool.
I'm -really- looking forward to the mini-game coming up with module 2. I have been known to minimize the game in order to hop onto gateway to check on my professions on alts. I can definitely see me doing that to check on my little companion buddies!
I'd like to be able to buy stacks of up to 100 resources from the professions shop, and for green (purchase or sale success) and red (failure of collecting task due to full inventory) to time out like the yellow ones (task completed or collected) do.

Looks like a great big cocktail glass of awesomeness. I can finally put that lazy wererat back to work!
(Sorry if I hijacked your thread a bit, melody!)
