Looking for friends/help on NW!

Hello! I am a player that has just moved from Jade Dynasty (one of PWE's older games) and I have found myself quite fond of NW. I have currently spent about 20 minutes making a male dark elf (who is very cute imo) and I am not too sure on how to erm.. play the game?

I thought NW was a newer game so maybe there are "noobs" like me? If so, I'd love to get to know you guys as I think NW has a lot of potential :c

BTW, does NW have a marriage system? If so, is it expensive? I had a reputation of marrying quite a bit on Jade Dynasty =x The more the merrier >.<

    No marriage system in Neverwinter. I would recommend reading the FAQ posted here in the forum, as well as reading about your class in the Class Forum. Unlike other MMOs this game was not originally develped for the MMO market, it is a conversion from the tabletop D&D system, so some things will be different than what you may be used to.

    First of all Welcome to NW hope u stay :D. I have been playin Jade Dynasty myself and its nothin like it since u dont have to grind for lvls here its goes pretty fast and smooth.

    Best thing is to read a bit about ur class a bit when u decided what to play on the Class Forums like ordensmarschall wrote since respecing skills and feats costs Zen (RL money) or Astral Diamonds if u exchange them,
    Invoke every day at lvl11 (Ctrl+I) ull get the quest for it too,
    level the Leadership Profession as soon as u hit lvl10 so ull get some free RAD,
    play dailies and Foundrys and enjoy the game and the stay :)

    Haha well on JD I had around 10 husbands .-. But on this game I'd be looking for a wife (including males playing female characters) :3 But that is a shame about a marriage system.

    I had a look at the wiki but found myself confused (I had a look at it about a week in advance when learning about the game too) but I shall ponder around the FAQ and Class section of the forum.

    I would still be looking for friends as I feel that playing an online games just sucks when you're going solo D:

    Is this game anything like GW2? And is there still a leveling system?

    If you're interested, there is also an IRC channel dedicated to Neverwinter. Lot's of nice folks there and they are legit runners as well.

    Where can I get the TS information? We used to have them on JD in each alliance so that would be pretty cool o:

    I personally only use it when I am running dungeon with my guild, otherwise I am always in IRC. You can also find this information by checking http://sanctum-order.proboards.com the info is in the banner.

    Welcome to Neverwinter. The game is not very similar to JD, but it's relatively new so there's not that much to learn and what there is to learn you'll get the hang of it fast. I would suggest that before you create a character, you should read a few guides and especially read what race to chose and what initial stat to pick to benefit your class the most. You can respec your powers and feats and redistribute stat points, but you can't change your class, race and the initial stats. As I am sure you noticed, the character creation is way deeper than JD's and not just in terms of visuals. But if you don't care about min-maxing, just pick the class you like the most. That's what I did and I am doing fine. Also, you should probably learn about the Gateway too. Here's the link: https://gateway.playneverwinter.com/

    Welcome aboard! I recommend the NW_Legit_Community custom chat channel, to ease your time trying to find groups to run dungeons with. There is no marriage system - but there's no reason you couldn't RP that in-game. Heck, I'm sure you or someone else could create a whole chapel setting/instance using the Foundry - maybe with some unwelcome guests after the main ceremony :o
