Is the only way to download Neverwinter through Bittorrent?

Hi,
I'm a student at the University of Leeds and am currently living in their rented accommodation. The halls of residence IT administrators are very strict on the use of torrent applications to the point where they cut off the connection of any computer running P2P application. I have tried to contact them about this, but have been told that their policies will not change, despite the legitimate use of such applications. It would seem that they prefer to outright block everything rather than make the extra effort.

Obviously, this complicates things hugely if the only way to download Neverwinter is by using these methods - I have tried to download the beta client today and had my connection cut off for using Bittorrent - and it seems completely counter-intuitive to me that Perfect World would not offer another way of downloading the client, as this could mean that you are losing a significant portion of people eager to play.

I understand that Neverwinter is still in beta phase, which is why I believe that it is prudent to make the suggestion now - please consider making a manual patch or an alternative patcher available so that people for whom P2P applications is not an option might be able to enjoy Neverwinter.

    What is it that makes you think it is bittorrent only?

    When I fired up the downloader - I chose direct download - my internet was disconnected because the network detected that Bittorrent was running.

    You have 2 options to chose from, direct download or via torrent. If your internet was disconnected this sounds like an issue on your end and not something to do with NWO. You can still try to close your torrent program (which appears to be Bittorrent) and chose direct download again.

    Actually there is no direct option - pando is also a kind of torrent(p2p), is it not?

    Arnathos: I wasn't running any F2P applications while downloading - I don't even have Bittorrent installed. If I had it running I'd not be able to access the internet at all. It's a really tricky situation - my university is pretty trigger-happy!

    try direct but remove pando media u dont need it p2p problem might me solved

    Well, i'm in rage with PW, I try to download the game and what I see? "To download Neverwinter you must have Arc, wich is a copy of Steam just for PW games that does absolutely nothing" then I search the internet for a torrent of Neverwinter, and what? There is no torrent link for a patched Neverwinter, and the Neverwinter Launcher is downloading extremely slowly, and it crashes every time I try to change any setting. So, it is just the inverse of what the creator of this thread wrote!

    Why there is no way to download Neverwinter through Bittorrent???

    Step 1. Download Arc.
    Step 2. Install Neverwinter through Arc.
    Step 3. Remove Arc from your computer.
    Step 4. Add Neverwinter to your steam Library as a non-steam game.
    Step 5. ???
    Step 6. Profit
