I've used Neverwinter with the Steam overlay since I started playing. I've never had any problems with the game, until just now.
I can launch the game off Arc, but trying to launch it with Steam causes it to crash on startup. I've tried using both the NW launcher and the STO launcher to start the game, same results both ways.
I don't understand what's causing this. I played the game this morning with no problems.

. . . . . I'm not sure how you're launching it through Steam since Neverwinter is not yet available through the Steam Service. That could be why you're having issues... I don't know because well, as I said, Neverwinter isn't yet available on Steam. Perhaps try closing Steam then loading Neverwinter normally?

It's quite simply really, just add the game to your steam library as a non-steam game and launch it that's all there is to it.
@OP If you've still got the Arc launcher installed / running that may be why, it shouldn't crash like that though..

You can play most non-Steam games with the overlay. And actually, you can launch any Cryptic game using any other Cryptic game's launcher. So if I need a native Steam version for some reason, I could launch it from my Steam STO or Champions launcher. It doesn't matter really, as the game is launching after the launcher closes, and crashing at the Cryptic screen, so it'll crash either way, but the more you know, right?
I tried running it again today with Arc not running, and it didn't work. Considering a clean reinstall, to see if that fixes it, but it'll have to wait until I have time (and I don't want to do it during the event).
Also, trying to patch through the STO launcher tends to give Error 36 messages. I had to download the patch twice!

I tried running it after a clean restart with no Arc last night, and no dice.
I also asked around a couple of channels, and found out that I'm not the only one with this issue.
