Let's talk about lag, baby.

I waited until now, because at first i thought it may be due to the servers still being worked on.

On any map, in any dungeon, pvp, pve areas, solo dungeons, GG, etc. you name it - the lag/rubberbanding is rendering the game unplayable. It started with the server merge, actually a few days before they've been merged.

I do not have lag/rubberbanding/fps issues in any other mmo, not even in those graphically more appealing than NW. (swtor, Aion)

What is causing the constant, stop and go type of lag? Interface lag, options lag, chat lag everything lags...
To me it seems to be a similar problem as we had in Champions online, a massive memory leak. Some people also told me, that the server just cannot handle the traffic...

I have no clue what to believe, i have done anything possible to get rid of the lag, since the game used to be running as smooth as warm butter, prior to the so called "server technology down.. sry UPgrade". I updated every single driver, without any effect. I cleaned up my ssd etc. and reinstalled NW, without any effect either.

I couldn't find any recent posts about this issue and it makes me wonder, if i am the only person experiencing the lag?

Nope, I have it too. Yesterday it gotten so bad that the game froze at times, until it started a streaks of DCs with server not responding. Rubberbanding is pretty common.

After the merge, lag has been greatly reduced for me (believe you or not) - I used to lag a lot, specially in Gauntlgrym. Nowadays, the only place that I experience lag is on Protector's Enclave when there are too many players.

Right after the merge, I had a little lag here and there. Then for a few days or so, everything was smoother than I've seen (since May). But this weekend was absolutely awful for lag. Right after logging in I was having trouble getting anything to register, and then got rubberbanded back across almost the entire length of Protector's Enclave. It was better after that, but definitely not what I would call good.

I had someone go ballistic on me this weekend because they were ranting about lag, and I said I do not have any. I have noticed that sometimes after I have done the 'log, invoke, professions' routine with all my alts, i will get a 1 second lag, so there may be a memory leak with multiple log on log offs (and this is common to many games).

But I have not had any noticeable lag since my last pc upgrade 3 weeks ago.... on my old quad core amd I could not even play FH, and i had all of the above ... no lag on DCUO or DOTA2.

Started for me this morning... unbelievable lag. Like persephone, I cannot access anything; the game client does not receive my inputs for 10 minutes or longer. It has been this way all day. All my other internet functions are performing normally so the problem is not on my end.

While I get some lag at home during the weekends, I tested it via my work account that has a primary OC-48 pipe and found that the lag is rather minimle with it restricted to occasional 1 second bands in PE. For the most part, I think it is client ISP related during peak hours and weekend usage. Note that I am in California, USA while the servers appear to be in Cambridge, MA. USA.
