will the schematic for the weapon only show up in crafting if you have at least three different fragments? I have one but nothing is showing up in the crafting window although I am lvl 20 artificier.
It will only show recipes relevant to the specific fragment you have.
So if you have the blade for example as valwryn mentioned, nothing will show up in artificing, as the blade is only used in weaponsmithing.
If you're level 20 in artificing, the high higher level recipes option won't have any effect.
Makes sense. Thanks. Moved it to my Alt and saw the recipes.... and.... big SIGH
I'm trying not to get discouraged by this game...but seriously. BOUND TO CREATOR? Did I simply miss something in the publicly provided information by Cryptic on how this was going to work. Here I have two toons at lvl 20 of weapon and artificer and my rogue is lvl 20 on the wrong craft? I just assumed that
1) High end craft items would be tradeable
2) if not tradeable, then at least tradeable within your account
I pushed my rogue (my main toon) into artificing primarily because I thought that there would be a larger market for this stuff given the love for CW's in the game
I just don't get the crafting role in this game except for alchemy and leadership (to level up). So you work your way up to the top level and the highest output isn't wanted by anyone (no set bonus) and then they add something interesting to the mix 'to create some of the highest gear in the game' and there is only reason to ever create the item a total of 1 time (ignoring the failure options of course)
I'm not mad...just discouraged because I clearly didn't read something or they didn't really make these things obvious and I just am baffled by what value they are putting on the high end crafting in the overall economy

Well, obviously it would be a bad thing if crafting would actually be profitable....then there would be less incentive for people to actually buy Zen to convert to AD, right ?
The other crafting professions used to be profitable - you could buy gauntlets and make/sell the reinforced ones for a nice profit, but they closed that loophole. Now you can make some AD by making gemmed shirts/pants, but because of the high price of tools, it will take weeks (or months) to break even.
As for artificing/weaponsmithing, it is basically a pointless waste of time - unless you are just making items that someone might want to use for transmuting, but apart from that....duh....
The silly thing is that if crafting was actually more profitable they might actually sell more resource packs, but as things are....why would anyone waste money on those?
without something like EQ2 had - commission crafting - this makes no sense anyway. Additionally those 2 profession seem to need for every HAMSTER you can make Residuum. If you happen (like me) to have used all of them while levelling another profession you are basically stuck or you need to buy lots of them via AH.
also those stuff should at least be account-wide usable (in EQ2 there was "Heirloom" items reflecting this).

Given they set the previous best in slot equip from professions to be BoP (Reinforced gauntlets) - the assumption for me was always that the next thing like that would be BoP too.
Note all of the rewards from module 1 were also on display before it ever came out - in the rewards window. That always read bind on pickup for the craftable weapons too.
But yea I agree, given the large investment needed to get wep/artificing to 20, there should be some way to profit off of it.
Personally did the slower/free grind on weaponsmithing, using only 1 slot up until it really slowed down at lvl17 - then I swapped to 3 slots.. Will hit lvl20 later today and make my GF set.
