Hello everyone. It's not my style to start threads about things like these, but I don't really have friends in-game, and my guild is ... well ... very silent.
I would like to know, for a Control Wizard, what companion is better. I have decided upon 2 "end-game" companions.
I think the augment companion is great for an CW, as it gives raw stats like recovery for faster skill spamming, power, crit strike, and so on, making the CW more powerful, and as a DPS class, every bit of stat points help. But, on the other hand, the CW is not a tanky class, and a personal healer, with a dmg reduce skill would also be welcomed.
I really don't know, any suggestion / help would be greatly appreciated.
Well I'm sorry to say but the Angle of Protection is a 365 Day Coin pet. So you won't be able to get this pet for atleast another 200+ days if you started the game went BETA.

I would pick the Ioun Stone -- but not upgrade it to Epic. You only get 4% extra stats and it doesn't seem to be worth 750k AD.

I know, I know ... why did you think I said "end-game" ?
Get yourself the Stone, then in a year or so pick up the Angel. No one knows WHAT the Angel will be. If they use the Champs version as the template, then it would be quite useful (with a Ranged AoE with a Stun, a decent Melee attack, and a useful Heal). But, who knows at this point. And you will likely hit End-Game within a month or so, give or take. It could take as little as week or two, if you play enough.

in the topic of companions. I have a question, does companions have "deflect severity"? im just curious coz I don't see that stat on the "companion stats" and im debating if its worth it to put an item with a deflect stat on my cleric companion.

Unless they decide to overhaul it between now and when people start getting it, we already know what abilities it will get though we don't know the cooldown timers.
First one is that it heals the player for 5% of their max HP and the second one is that it gives you a ward that when you take more than 5% of your max HP, it takes half of the incoming damage. It's bonus ability at rank 30 is the player takes 5% less damage.

Deflect is not a 'solid' stat , it is only a 'chance' to deflect a % of incoming damage, if you want defence for a companion, better going for 'solid' stats like Hit Points or Defence and even Life steal apparently works well on companions
As for OP, Ioun stone all the way, and dont bother to upgrade to 30 its a waste of AD as already pointed out

Ok guys, thank you for the info. Yeah I guess it's too early to think about the Angel, and should get a stone in the meantime. Maybe they should make the angel even more stronger, for the veterans ... I mean, playing the game every day for a year is no small thing.

Easy solution, get an Ioun Stone of Might and put 2 seal of the executioner's on it, easy 1000 regen, then you have a healing companion that doesn't die all the time.
