I've been thinking about the same thing some days back and I believe it's possible. But I haven't had the chance to roll a character for it yet. I'm thinking that rolling a Drow for this would be good. 16(+2) DEX and 16(+2) CHA, for a total of 18 each, +6 to each stats resulting to 24 DEX/CHA, which in turn would net us a raw 21% Deflect (7 from DEX, 14 from CHA). After which, stacking up on Deflect Stats from gear (Jewelry and Belt would be preferably ones with Defense Slots) and Silvery Enchantments would be the 2nd priority. I'm imagining we can get Deflect as high as 40%, but I'm not sure how well Deflect scales as it increases in number. It will need more tests.

I'm thinking Scoundrel or Saboteur TR's would be able to benefit from this a lot more compared to Executioners. One thing's for sure, this build would be fun with the Fey Thistle Boon and Impossible to Catch.

Don't forget, halflings get +3% deflection as well as +2 Dex and +2 Cha. I haven't really thought about a deflection based build, and I'm really not much of a theorycrafter, but the little guys/gals might work well if such a build is viable.

I think it's a bad idea to go full-on deflect on a TR. You already have stealth that allows you to be completely out of danger, meaning that unless you are HAMSTER up your deflect stat is useless most of the time. You are far better off having regen/life steal which serves a purpose in stealth (as well as not in stealth) than deflect. That said, the times when you do are out of stealth, it's nice to have some deflect and CC reduction, which is why Halfling is the best defensive race for TR, and also why you should use your first two boons for defensive purposes (defense and deflect), since the damage ones will be very marginal. Also, the Halfling can roll the same +2 Dex/Cha as the Drow. It just means you have both racials which serve a real purpose, whereas the Drow only has one, and it is an offensive one, not the defensive we want.

How could I forget about Halflings. I retract my previous statement about Drows, Halfling is the way to go for this. +3%, then another +3% from Lucky Skirmisher, we get 27%. I like it. I think I'll play with this idea a bit more. It definitely will not be as successful as cookie cutter executioners, but if it's fun then it's worth it I say. I personally like playing with Stealth myself. Though I believe being able to play with creative and unexplored builds like this deflect idea right here is a good way to break the monotony of us having highly limited play styles. But then again, the game is pretty much forcing us to specific roles for each class.

I'm wondering if the Fey Thistle boon will have an internal cooldown.

Don't worry, Banelorne, we're easy to miss. In fact, we prefer that you don't notice us -- makes it easier for us to slip away with your shinies ;)
