I hit 60 and have found I have been running into premades with uber gear.
This is a problem in all mmos I have found and it would be nice if the devs would address this issue.
Have a separate que so premades can fight other premades, and pugs can fight pugs.
That way games would be more competitive.
I love close fights in pvp and you seldom see them when premades and pugs collide.
I agree here

So people that probably paid for their gear and enchants (i.e., PW customers...) would be forced to play against other skilled/geared people, instead of just having fun squashing squishies with 7K GS?

Hmm...
They will get more glory since their fights will last longer... and other players would also have more enjoyable games as they would be more equally teamed up and likely have closer matches and get more glory. Sooooo what's the problem again?
Oh here's an idea, disable all enchants (vorpal, soulforged tenebreous etc.) in PvP and see how it goes!

I have no problem, I didn't pay and won't pay for this game. I detest anything close to P2W. But I can see others will be disappointed. I've seen a few too many times in these forums the sentence "I've paid for this to have an advantage".
GW1 has a similar system with random and team arena. But this didn't make a difference because people would sync queue so they'd all be in the same team.
The game needs a challenge system, where the party leader can challenge another party leader for a duel.
But, there is some kind of a mechanism already, full team queues takes a lot of time and the chance you get another premade is really increased. It's just there is not enough premades playing really
- Premades aren't all high GS. You'll limit young guilds with newer players to being unable to pvp as a group.
- PUG's aren't all low GS. I've picked up with some very solid and capable teams that you FELT were premade.
- Voice coms are open to all parties, meaning your still allowing a PUG to work as well as a premade simply by communicating in the provided chat.
- Players will find a way to avoid the lockout by simultaneous queue, etc. Happens in other games.
My suggestions (since simply detracting on another player's idea is bad form)?
Multiple Arena Queue's, including:
- a free for all bracket (current system)
- a casual bracket (10k GS max, gear locked on joining, PUG only)
- a pro bracket (10k GS minimum to enter, gear locked on joining, stats recorded, PUG/Premades)
- and a tournament bracket (12k GS minimum to enter, gear locked on joining, certain gems not allowed or simply turned off, stats recorded, Premade only, special currency payout if you win)
As well, add multiple game types, to each queue as they fit, including deathmatch, single point capture, and capture the flag. Also, several different vs. amount, including 1-v-1 duels (set by challenge), 3-on-3 and 10-on-10.

That's all awesome and I would love to see that. But given the focus company is willing to give to PVP we should be happy if they at least implement the penalty for leavers so the PVP is played by people who actually wants to play and the games would stay 5vs5 at least:D
Really...PvP is a joke in all new MMO's. The real fix is to go back to original EQ style PvP.
For those that never played early EQ, the PvP system was totally hardcore. Once you chose to be PvP you were fair game everywhere in the game. Not only that you had naked corpse runs, loot stealing, and exp loss from deaths. Also...you couldn't buy your gear, you had to go out and find it and loot drops were very stengy...and hope that no one comes along and PK's you and takes the goodies!
Not sure where all this panzy *** capture the flag and arenea stuff came from, I mean what's the point??
not to be an ***...but I just spent nearly an hour looking for some general game info and had to sift through all the PvP BS.
it's a game...and it's free to play...quit taking it so seriously:)

Lol why even have weapon enchants then? Not like you need even lesser to complete all PvE with ease.
@pers3phone: Actually killing 7k GS players is completely boring when in a premade. I am in a PvP guild and q with 5 fairly often, we want another premade every match if possible, they are 10x more fun.
Problem is, as lobo said, many premade's are still garbage lol. We steamroll other premades 1000-20 quite often. However once in a great while we'll get a full team of decked out pugs that actually put up a good fight. I think for the sake of Q times having a bracket system based on GS that checks and rechecks GS and then locks your gear would be the best solution. something like <9k, 9k-11k, 11k+. Only problem with this is certain classes have abnormally high GS without good gear like GF's, and that certain classes can be amazingly geared with <11k GS, like sent GWF.
I would also say that once some sort of filter is implemented we also need a leaving penalty as this is addressing the main reason people quit, uneven teams.
Guild Master of <Enemy Team>
We are definitely dominating, and we are always about to win.

I am wondering if they could put factors in the equation such as:
If players were in last match were on same team they have greatly reduced chance to be on same team for next match

If players have same guild tag, same as above.
