Started a GWF, not impressed at all so far. I've fought high lvl ones in pvp and they do great tho. I'm guessing they get better? Too bad about the nerf. Sucks, I have 2 60 rogues, they're getting nerfs, now GWF. I like melee combat without shields ******!

My experience was like this (keep in mind I've been playing the same GWF character since open beta).

    1. From the beginning, it felt like a clunky, slow tank with not enough firepower.

    2. By around level 10, I felt like I was getting somewhere.

    3. By 30 I felt like I could hold my own pretty well.

    4. From 40-60 I felt like a piece of ****, especially in PvP.

    5. At 60 I felt okay at first, but at that time it was still early and most people had just reached 60, so we were generally evenly matched overall.

    6. Then, I felt like I was incredibly weak, almost the same feeling I had when I started her back at old level 1. It wasn't until I geared up that I felt like I was viable to my guild, and I'd say that was around 10K GS.

Honestly I can't tell you since I played mine since Open Beta before the Paragon and Feat changes.

However I will tell you if Unstoppable is anything like it is for me at lvl 60, taking on solo Dungeons and higher lvl areas should be no problem for you, unlike it was for us before those changes.

Tip: Destroyer is the way to go if DPS is what you crave. The up coming "Nerf" to GWF is nothing to worry about if you know how to play the class.

I've leveled a few gwf (3 to date). I was trying to find a race/ tree combo I liked. I've discovered some tips to help your damage as your level.
    1. We are VERY gear dependant. Update your gear every 4-6 levels (score cheap rares when you can... They last more levels). It's super cheap in the AH for greens. I was still able to have over 100K AD every time I hit 60.
    2. Focus on 1 or 2 stats only with all your gear. I recommend armor penetration and lifesteal. Once you hit 60, then branch out.
    3. Do your daily AD quests. Pray. Avoid using rare gear (to sell for a good chunk of AD)
    4. Your weapon is the most important piece of equipment. Look to ALWAYS increase your base damage (upgrading it every level or two with whatever you find)
    5. Get combat advantage whenever you can. We are the most mobile class for a reason.

I haven't felt underpowered at any point. I love skirmishes.

Currently 42, GWF damage is kinda low compared to TR at first, that much I've noticed. As others have said it really helps to keep your weapon up to date, even blues get outdated rather quickly and it can make the difference between an Encounter one-shotting a weak minion or having to hit it a couple of times with Sure Strike too. But we are rather tough, and thanks to Unstoppable deal more damage the more we take. Rather fond of that mechanic, forces you to balance safety and damage potential.

As far as the upcoming changes go... meh. I'm not really a fan of dungeons as they currently are in this game (a lot fewer add swarm bosses would be nice) so it doesn't really affect me much. Kinda strange how they're going about it though. By all accounts I've read we're not taken in PvE due to pathetic boss damage and competent CWs just punting things off of cliffs or always having singularity rolling thus our AoE damage is worthless too, meanwhile in PvP we're nigh unkillable; their response is to make us tougher and deal less damage. Maybe they're doing it with the new paragon path I keep hearing about in mind?

GWF struggle more than any other class while leveling. CW and TR are the easiest class to level. DC and GF have more staying power than the GWF.

Then at End game GWF are completely useless. I rarely see 60GWF do T2 dungeons. And if they are taken they are taken because a TR or GF could not be found. When I do Gauntlgrym I see tons of GWF players doing that simply because they dont have much else they can do. and GG is so easy a party of 1 DC, 4 GWF is perfectly fine.

And in Castle Never, there are still many players that prefer DC, CW, CW, TR, TR. Or it is DC, CW, CW, TR, + one fighter of choice. as the Fighter is the 5th wheel that brings nothing to the group that those 4 can't accomplish.

Then wait the new thing now Is 4 Man CN's... Guess what classes never get to go at all now.

Sure I will say A top tiered *** kicking GWF could replace a TR in CN, I have done this, But I still have to fight for that spot. Everyone knows a GWF single target damage cannot compare to a TR at all.

Err no, gwf was okay until CB4. Since then it went all downhill. There was a short revival because of the discovery of a very weird and counter-intuitive but efficient build, extremely expensive though.
The nerf of the Slam is the last stone thrown at them by Cryptic. Removing most of the damage from a skill that was already not
delivering significant damage at all, compared with any aOE of any other class, and pretending that the oh-so-low speed debuff is a more than enough compensation? Who do they think they are fooling?
What is a speed debuff for an already slow mob (hulk, zombie)? Nothing.
What is a speed debuff for a mob that instantly teleports? 85% of instantly is still instantly.
What is a speed debuff for a ranged mob? Nothing.
What is a speed debuff for a static dungeon boss, which anyway just stays in the middle of the room? Nothing. Well ok, i this case it is only an hypothetical concern, as the gwf does not know what a dungeon boss is, or even what a dungeon is.
English is not my first language.

    Expect to remain toothless meatwagon.
Cryptic is systematicly removing any damaging skills from GWF and they are currently same or worse at damage then GF.

True, I hate it that GF's can tank and still outdamage you if you're not a destroyer build.
