I have been a few PVP Dominion matches where 2 or 3 that originally joined the group left... I believe that this is a flaw in the game... It creates lopsided teams and is less than honorable on those that leave. If people want to be in a specific group they should group up before hand, otherwise live with the group you end up with... Cryptic needs to do something about this... either they should forfeit glory, gems, gold or something costly to leave the match; or they should not be allowed to leave. In either case in the current state unless the group is created before hand the random groups are hosed.
I've been to some matches where pugs with 4 players vs 5 still managed to get a win. So it's not necessary a straight lose situation (but most of the times it is, however). But it all have been discussed like a million times already. Just implement a debuff for leavers, and the vote systems for kicking and surrendering a game. Shouldn't be that hard. But instead we are getting some more companions and mounts in the cash shop.

True, 4 against 5 has potential if the 4 are really good and click... However, I have been in 3 against 5 and 2 against 5 neither of which are viable.

Depends on composition of the teams but having a challenge once in a while is more fun than 1000 - 10.
Haven't done much pvp, but of the matches I've played, I'd guess 5% of them have been good nail biting matches, the other 95% were roll or be rolled. Absolute garbage really, should at least try to match gear score within 2k =P
I drop out within 2 minutes now, I don't care really anymore, some tard telling me to go fight after his 3rd resapwn in a minute lol, I say cya! No penalty for leaving, and no point sitting there feeding glory for 10 minutes.
As long as there won't be any form of gearscore tiers or advanced team balancing, people will keep leaving.
The reason ?
When you join a PVP, check your allies gearscore. Most of the time you will be with two (or three) 6k 7k 8k gearscore people.
Considering the prices of epic stuffs on AH, it's insulting others to join PVP with 6k gearscore.
They have the right to join, but we have the right to quit.
As a cleric, healing people with 6-7k gs is pointless and then I would be useless, that's why I leave if the average GS of my partners is 7-8k.

Well considering Cryptic are the ones who basically caused the leaver issue by nerfing glory rewards I say good luck with that.
Then again with the recent nerf of not being able to sell glory bought items for gold, glory is pretty pointless now so maybe that will help. Assuming anyone is still PvPing now.

True enough. PVP participation will be declining over time, not increasing.

Unless they changed it you can still buy potions with glory and sell it to the vendor. BoP may bring it's own can of worms.

From what I understood that was one of the things changed with yesterdays patch. Anyone able to confirm whether potions are still sellable to vendors for coin or not?
People are leaving matches because they are so imbalanced that they aren't fun. Punishing them for leaving something that isn't at all enjoyable won't make them play, they will just stop playing the game entirely or sit there AFK for 10 minutes to avoid the penalty. This is one of thousands of voluntary entertainment options most people have, not a job. Neverwinter needs to address the fact that many matches are so horribly unbalanced that they aren't any fun for either side, not try and punish people for exiting boring content. The first and easiest fix is to allow disconnected players to be removed from the match and replaced by other players in the queue mid match, then you aren't stuck in a hopeless situation for the entirety of the game just because one person leaves or gets disconnected.
