I always thought elves got screwed over really bad compared to dwarves, halflings, and about anything else when it comes to their racial bonuses as +1% crit chance and 10% chance to avoid slow effects which never seems to ever work or if it does you can't tell, but the points they receive are appalling compared to other races.
For the fun of it I decided to make clerics with different races to compare how they play. To my astonishment, I could not believe the extreme difference in character roll points the races get.
For instance my Halfling cleric has 1 point more strength, 2 points more con, 2 points more int, 4 points more char, and only 1 point less dex than what my elf cleric gets. My Halfling gets 8 points more than my elf.
I also have a dwarf cleric, the dwarf gets 2 points more con than the halfling, 1 point less dex, 2 points less wis, and 3 points less charisma. My halfling gets 4 points over my dwarf (my dwarf purposely chose max total points).
This seems pretty extreme, especially on the elves (my other elf cleric, I have two, has even less points).
Perhaps my elves lost their racial bonuses when I reset them. I know one took max wisdom and the other had one or two points less than max. My Halfling did not take a high wisdom build. My elves also chose to take their racial bonus on wisdom. Maxed out my low wisdom elf only has one point more wisdom than my Halfling would have with its wisdom maxed out and halflings don't have a bonus to their wisdom. All this still doesn't explain the halfling's stat scores over my dwarf's as I didn't reset my dwarf and my dwarf took max stat totals on its rolls. My dwarf is however a little older than my Halfling, and my elves are older than my dwarf.
if all rolls are supposed to be the same between races, then I've lost all my racial bonus points on my elves and dwarf ... I've reset my elves a few times and paid AD to reset my dwarf once... there aren't any rolls that are even close to being 8+ points different than each other ... I've sent in a support ticket
Just a suggestion but none of them were under the effects of campfire when you calculated this were they? +1 point on every stat is +8 points xD this may be the issue?

every race can do the 18/13/13/10/10/8 stat roll you just have to keep rerolling the dice at the start. till you get it. Also the only thing the difference races has is the +2 to what ever stats. like elves have +2 Dex human +2 any 1 stat teifling +2 int +2 cha. thats the only real difference between the different classes. your first cleric you probably didnt keep rolling the dice you probably just went with what ever showed up when you hit next.

I am not sure what are you talking about.
There are and there always will be racial differences.
Race choice makes only slight difference. You can be successful with any race on any class.
And like it was said before. Before comparing be sure that you take campfire buff into account(+1 to each stat, lasts 15 minutes).

Yea I think devs are racists against Dwarves.. 2 pieces of evidence:
In Dungeons and Dragons online, dwarves main racial ability are not really implemented. It's based on 3.5, and every other race gets a fairly literal translation of their ability. Dwarves is trip/knockdown resistance - they don't get this in DDO. At launch, they got nothing really, months later they gave them +4 balance, but balance in ddo doesn't prevent knockdowns, it only allows you to potentially get up faster (but never really even does that due to the limitations of the d20 system in tha game).
In this game - Dwarves racial ability states:
Stand Your Ground: You have increased resistance to Knock and Repel effects.
-- This is completely broken in pve, monsters always have a 100% chance to knock and repel you. It does function in PVP tho, but has a pretty small chance - around 10%.
And there 2nd one:
Cast Iron Stomach: You have increased damage resistance to Damage Over Time (DoT) effects.
- Doesn't work at all. Tested it one some fire DoTs, take the same damage as every other race.
Only nice thing they did was let us take +2 str or wis (4th ed you get +2 con and +wis, no choice). Though that only helps a few classes.
That plus the other major advantage in pnp is that all races except dwarves are meant to move slower in heavy armor. Yet both mmos everyone moves at the same speed in heavy armor, so that benefit is negated.
So yea the two DnD based mmos both failed to implement Dwarven racial bonuses properly. A little bit racialist don't you think.
