A few things up front:
1) I'm not max level yet(only 18)
2) I'm not really a D&D fan(not that I dislike it, I'm just not very familiar with the lore)
3) I only play casually(I alternate playing between about 4 different games in a play session)
With all of that said, I'm really enjoying this game. Its just plain fun to play, and I just wanted to say thanks to the devs for their hard work

Ya dont let the 80-90% of the forum users get you down. Dont listen to what they say only listen to the 10-20% that think the game is great.
OP just wait you will learn to be hateful it doesnt start till later after you have played the game for longer
Dont worry, I'm not new to MMO forums. The truth is, I dont care if a single person agrees with me or not. I just posted this thread to tell the devs thanks
As someone who plays a lot of MMOs, I can tell you that pretty much all MMO forums are mostly negative in tone, and there is actually a scientific reason for that that has nothing to do with the quality of the game. Human nature is such that people are more vocal when they are upset than when they are happy. That means that the majority of people who feel motivated to voice their opinions on any MMO forums are doing it because they are not happy about *insert subject here*.
On the other hand, the majority of people who are happy with the game dont feel motivated to speak out, so they are simply playing the game rather than posting on its forums. So yes, the majority of posts on an MMO forum are negative. And while we're stating the obvious, the sky is blue and the grass is green :P
There you go.
Also note. Negative feedback can be very constructive. Conveying the feedback albeit negative but in a positive/constructive format, is helpful. But its relative again on how its communicated and received and interpreted.
EDIT: BTW Im enjoying my time ingame Few things need some tweaking, fixes needed here and there; but overall Im enjoying the game. As an MMO gotta realize it'll evolve over time. This game is still just outta the gate.

Yeah, I wasn't a fan either but after researching I found out this came from some type of board game with dice and cards. Now I see why people associate dnd with virgins and nerds lol but it is fun.:p
PinkSugar, lvl 60 CW.
Baby Cakes, lvl 60 GWF.
*******, lvl 60 TR.
Premium Juicebox, lvl 60 CW.
Pink Exxxtacy, Ranger
There is NO pvp in Neverwinter.
I totally agree, but a big sticking point is that what one person perceives as "working as intended" another person sees as "OP". With little direct input from the devs, the forum-goers resort of theorycrafting and opinionated interpretation of how things *should* be done.

I'm working on my 4th character, all different classes, and the quests are almost all the same as the first with only a few minor changes on some side quests.
Basically I just log in twice a day to start/receive crafting and pray.
Unless something is done, this game will go down the drain fast when The Elder Scrolls online is released.
Well sorry your logic fails i went and just checked out some other major MMO forums. They from looking at them have about 5-10% negative posts. Here its more like 80-90% negative. So by your logic then this game pissed off alot more players then the other games. Being the mmo with the most pissed off player base isnt a good thing.
Its funny, i just read a thread how some1 dosent like the game and the reasons why.
Now i read another1 where some1 loves the game and the reasons why.
This game is just not for all people.

. . . . . I only have a few gripes left that haven't either been addressed or fixed. One is the over-priced transmuting costs and and enchant removal costs. I feel these prices are way too extreme to be functional AD sinks and also provide aesthetic quality to players like me who love customization. Right now, I am spending way more than I can make in AD to transmute and disenchant my items.
. . . . . My other only real concern is that there has been no further statements on PWE/Cryptic's plans for player/guild housing since Alpha/Beta. I am very much a House-lover and decorator in MMORPGs
. . . . . Housing is the one aspect I usually end up loving or hating the most in MMORPGs that have it. Ultima Online and Everquest II are the two I compare and judge all housing systems by, mostly UO because of the ability to build brick by brick. I'm hoping PWE/Cryptic incorporates the Foundry into players designing and building their own homes and guild establishments, even taverns and such - as persistent housing instances open to the public/friends list.

I am here from Champions online I was in the CO beta but was more into city of heroes until
its untimely closing, but ive also played WOW, eve, Lotro, Tor, Neocron and many others
I have 5 characters ranging from 12-45 not including all the characters I got up to 20+ in
beta weekends 1 2 and 3. ad I am not bored of the content yet in fact I feel invoking makes leveling to fast.
I am a hero of the north owner my hubby has the guardian pack and we are planning on getting the feywild
pack and we both firmly feel it has been worth every penny.
You can look at my sig to see a general idea how much i've bought in fashion and dyes. I got the jester top
with trade-bars from lockboxes and I didn't get one pony. I don't regret it and id do it again as it was fun.
and I actually made a lot of profit by selling stuff from the boxes on the AH, I love the fact that the AH is AD based
and not gold based. I find AD - Zen - gold exchanges highly entertaining.
Ive maxxed alchemy and I think its the coolest profession yet.
I am in 2 rp guilds Haven's point and Jagged daggers and I enjoy both communities tremendously.
I even enjoy the moonstone mask rp. and sometimes just watching people try to get into the vip room.
I think the pvp is mildly enjoyable and I typically hate pvp in games.
I think this is the first game im actually looking forwards to capping in thanks to the campaign system.
Foundry...what can I say about foundry we don't already know. It is a brilliant feature.
yes this game could use work, yes more content or customizability or quality of life features would be welcome.
but what you have so far is very fun and well worth the money i've spent. I do hope NWO is added to CORE/ARC and some of the brilliant innovations in crafting and foundry get applied to other cryptic games.
I'm not worried about whether you believe what I said or not. I know its true, and you have the right to be wrong if thats what you choose
Sounds like a commercial for the chinese government. "citizens of Neverwinter. Everything is good, DONT think for yourself. The cake is NO lie!"
I too alternate between this and other two games and play casually.
It has its pluses.
People play it now. So foundry is active, chat is full of lfg. It is good.
Why would anyone listen to people hanging around the forum of a game they hate? Sound logic there, huh?
All joking aside, never listen to anyone on a forum unless you a solid have reason to believe them. Play the game an make up your own mind. That goes for any game.
I'd rather play pnp D&D over any video game honestly. I just like using my imagination to visualize what is going on in the game. I like reading also, so that's part of it. I'm a chef, I kayak, drink alcohol, and generally raise hell. I'm not a nerd or a virgin though. The association that people make between these things is laughable. Normal, everyday people like different things. I doubt the association would exist if there wasn't a stigma attached to D&D, and more people tried it out.
A lot of that probably started with LARPing. People even thought D&D was devil worshiping, because there are gods and demons in the game.
The journey from 1-60 on your first character is absolutely the high point of the game. Take your time, smell the roses, and enjoy. Do not rush this bit, as the rest of the game doesn't really hold up to that high standard.
However, levelling a single character isn't just the best bit, it can be easily done without paying a thing, so you win. Have fun
