I'm working with some timers in my current project and due to the large size of the room I've had to put the timers in same area as to be in range, I've just hidden them.
Now my question stems from the fact that when the timers fall off their perch to their doom there is a very out-of-place girly scream (lone drows for timers) in what is otherwise an eerily silent magical tomb.
Has anyone taken the time to find mobs, or remember solo ones, that are silent when they bite the dust?
Would be much appreciated as I am much to lazy to do it myself. Thanks!
Totally unrelated, but I thought I saw an FX in the foundry that made it rain bodies from above. Seriously. I keep thinking I ought to stick that in a map and hop into the 3D editor just to see what it looks like. Such a weird FX, unless I'm remembering incorrectly...
In any case, I'm thinking the invisible wall trick should do what you're wanting. Worth a try...

Sounds ignore placed walls. At least those do. I haven't tested EVERY sound.
Have you tried placing a large (500x500 perhaps) invisible wall horizontally between the plunging drow and terrain?
Tried this 1st but no matter how low I put the mobs and high i put the roof (got as high as a 50' differential) they would randomly (not every time but often enough to be maddening) generate on top of the wall and screw up the timer.
Thanks for your input guys I'll keep searching. In the meantime I'm trying to see if playing simultaneous sound fx will cover the screaming

You are correct.
Its used in Tower District - the bodies falling in to the Pillar Of Light above the Inn.
I played with it in my current quest, the bodies make a nice splash sound when they hit the floor, and you get a blood-splash visual effect depending on gfx settings.

Off I go to use 'plunging to their death' drow as sound effects...
Pick your side, take a stand, save--or kill--your former allies.
Agh! It's raining drow!
