Valient Duelist Vs Avatar of War

Been looking at these two end game Sets for a GWF.

Avatar of War obviously has the better set bonus. But would you consider the stats on Valient duelist to be better. It has equal Power and Crit to avatar of war and it gives armor pen and more defense. While Avatar of War gives Recovery and Deflection.

With increase Power from defense and armor pen being essential in dealing damage, Isnt Valient duelists better than Avatar of War.

Would the Ideal setup be 2 piece Avatar of Wr for crit and Then 2 piece Valient duelist just for the base stats and bonus HP. Giving you amazing crit and okay in both recovery and armor pen. Then you can runestone up to your caps in each.

Well 2pc AoW/2pc Vigilant is best for pve. 4pc AoW is lackluster due to difficulty to maintain it.

PvP is really up to your playstyle, I like 4 pc valiant for the slow though, plus it has all the neccesary PvP stats.

    Epic Spell Plague.

Avatar of War full set is luckluster, unless you use Punishing Charge to keep your charges up. Otherwise, you have to time out each of your abilities to keep the buff up. Valiant Duelist is pretty lackluster for pve, because you don't need the slow and the health bonus is underwhelming compared to 450 crit and/or recovery.

Best setup is 2 piece Avatar and 2 piece Valiant. It gives you two of the raw stats you need to succeed at all times.

Spell Plague, just got it two days ago!

I'm still on the fence about either set, to be honest. I've seen some GWFs combining them, two of each set, for the 2-piece bonuses. Seems like the best option. AoW sounds cool in theory, but I don't like the stats. It's going to sound sad, but I've been doing much better with the Heroic Duelist set I STILL use since I hit 60. The bonuses I get with it help my survival in both PvP and PvE. Can't beat it, but that's mainly because of how I built my character. Almost have a full Avatar set, and I'll at least try it, but GWF gear is pretty laughable at the moment if it's the only thing we have to strive for.

Well right now I am running Vigilant Warlord's 2 pcs + Avatar of War 1 + Berserker Champion. Got the AoW Greaves yesterday. Now i need to hunt for the helm... It's tempting to just spend money but then what's the point.

I used 2xAoW pieces for the +crit, but on a whim decided to try Titan tree, and i've been much happier. If you like to stand in a middle of a fight while people wail on and call you OP while you slowly kill them one by one, I don't think there's a better option than stacking DR+regen at this moment.
