Just found this out
Laptop with 2nd monitor, run launcher move it to 2nd monitor, exit it
unplug monitor
run launcher again, you can't see it. have to right click select move, and move it back to the primary monitor.

It does this on my 3 screen setup too. Always starts on a window on the left.

if you hit the show desktop icon (where everything minimizes) when you click on the NW icon after that, the launcher seems to load on the primary monitor.

Just found this out

This happened to me after I used my tv as a monitor. I have windows 7 and I used the method below to fix the problem.
Use ALT+TAB to switch to the off-screen application.
Press ALT-SPACE to bring up the system menu (you won't see it because it is off screen)
Press R to select the "Restore" menu choice to ensure the windows isn't is maximized (you can not move it if it is maximized)
Press ALT-SPACE again, then M to select the "Move" menu choice.
Press one of the arrow keys to initiate the movement.
Now just use the mouse to place the window where you want.
If you are using a non-english version of Windows, the "R" and "M" menu choices probably will be different.
