Great job guys. I have been pretty upset lately that the exploits were just ignored and you fixed MANY in this patch. I am the first to say things against you when you fail, So I will say great job when you do something right.

I noticed it was not just castle never that was fixed, but when I did Karrundux today (group members tried to exploit) they were all closed. The same with FH ( no more rogues just running to the end). The dungeons are supposed to be a challenge and they are just that now. Though the 1st boss is a PAIN now that you cant get to a cliff in FH lol. But we still did it with some efficient kiting :)

I know there has been a TON of whining about closing them, but exploits are obviously not intended. Keep closing the exploits, I am sure a few more may pop up, as long as you keep closing them I will be happy for sure.

Keep up the good work, and keep putting in the effort to make the game better and you will keep customers. The ones throwing a fit about closing exploits, you don't want them as customers anyways. Let them leave, its a very small percentage.

    He shoots... and scores!

Well said. I agree, especially with the minute # that cheats.

Still, more work needs to be done, and can and will be done because of the diligence of our player community that has reported these activities as soon as they see them.

Please continue to report exploits directly (that means not on the forums here for all to see) using these methods:

I'm gonna assume that's an own goal , judging by the state of the game after the latest patch .
Just attempted to run pirate king elite quest and it's completely bugged .
There is NO longer an anchor at the dock point so you can't get over to the pirate king himself .

Was there not enough QA testing done to make sure that the patch didn't break more than it fixed ?????

Good job... it took Cryptic a month and a half to finally fix FH speed run. Good job... it took Cryptic 21 days to fix the Castle Never window exploit. Good thing the damage has already been done and the market is already flooded with exploited gear, while the exploiters are laughing at Cryptic's incompetence, sitting comfortably on millions of AD they've already farmed, eh? Good job, indeed!

Did you bug report it? These things will happen. On occasion something breaks. It gets reported and fixed. Problem solved. Much more important is to deny cheaters and exploiters. Goal accomplished, as far as I'm concerned.

Yes, much better than getting booted from the game for daring to look at the summary screen in a dungeon. Dare to press your X key and enjoy the crash to desktop. What's that? You want more? Kill final boss in FH and, that's right, crash to desktop; no loot, no completion, and instance resets because entire group crashed. Yes, things are working much better now. So just report it and this will be fixed in 3-6 weeks? Bravo.

Yeah I bug reported it , showed me a number ( didn't write it down though ) but when I then check against my reported bugs it doesn't list it ( a bug itself ????? ) .
It's also been reported in the forums in various postings for the last 3 hours or so .

Don't assume you understand how these things work. Its easy to sit there in a cozy reclining computer chair and play armchair developer. The same few do it each and every day.

It takes time for certain exploits to be fixed. Once fixed they are lessons learned. Don't ridicule the good guys. Those who spend the time to cheat and exploit their way to a bogus victory are the ones who deserve shame...

The game economy will be just fine. It's a very young game, and a loooong way to go. It will take a lickin at times, but will most likely just keep on tickin.

You know, I sympathize with them, I really do. I've worked as part of game development teams, although only for two very small titles, have worked on modding teams for successful mods and as a game tester for various titles.
I have to say that even though I sympathize a lot, a couple of the things that have happened, and a couple of the updates that have been pushed and subsequently hotfixed, really would not have been necessary if any kind of proper playtesting was going on: in some cases, it even looked as if the version control system was compromised because patches re-introduced bugs that had been previously fixed.
As such, while you're absolutely right and it was essential that they block off the exploitation, I have to say that they *need*, absolutely *need* to get their stuff together when it comes to play-testing their updates. It is *much* better to leave out a "Ah, we just changed a few small things, shouldn't break anything"-last-minte fix and push that as a small update after a day on a test shard than including such a fix in an update and then finding out that it breaks practically the entire game (no ability to complete quests, buy profession ingredients, etc., lock ups, crashes).
This sort of thing happens all the time, even in large games, true, but that doesn't make it better -- and doesn't make the frequency it has happened here in any way excuseable.

Oh I'm with you totally on the play testing thoughts. Hopefully the preview server will go a long way to assisting the internal folks in making future updates and hotfixes tighter.

exploits are what make a lot of these worth running atm due to excessive adds. Now that the exploits are gone I would hope the adds drop down aswell because holy balls, seriously.

also take the invisi walls off of roof tops in PE those were fun to go on and see how high up one could get....
An unintended really fun part of the game has been somewhat quashed.
