What is bot - program to control character in game. It is we that allow botters to get profit by not reporting them!
>>> ALWAYS REPORT BOTTERS <<<

HOW TO SPOT A BOT:
1. Currently it does not mount in majority cases - this is powerful clue, but it will most likely change in future.
2. Random movement in Tower circle, line movement everywhere else.
3. Often low level gear - inspect character before PVP match starts, if it has low level Gear it's most likely bot( played would have hell to level not geared character)
4. Too easy to kite.
5. It dies like a fly.
6. It's dumb - attack and run in the line.
7. It does not chat nor respond.
8. Low score (few or none kills, low place in chart)
9. Also a clue, automatically generated character name and dumb account name(not a word, not a nick, just random letters)
10. Bots so far do not doge AOE ATTACKS like Arcane Singularity.
11. Occasionally run into walls

HOW DO I REPORT A BOT or HACKER:
1. press H (? in top bar)
2. Request GM HELP
3. Choose Bahaviour Button
4. Summary - for example PVP BOTTING or PVP HACKING
5. @handle - here you enter account name not character name
6. Description - be as detailed as you can, also enter character name.
7. If you spam garbage reports or continuously accuse innocent be aware that you may get yourself a problem or ban.
8.Press SUBMIT.

FUTURE POSSIBLE ANTI BOT SOLUTIONS:.
1. Gear score rtequirement to enter PVP - too low - we dont want you here - like minimum 36 lv gear for 40 - 49 PVP, minimum lv 56 gear for 60 pvp.
2. Captcha read code(excluded founders pack, nevervinter pack buyers)
3. Text analysis test before joining quene, like 1000 questions. (example one, three, ... , seven - whats missing?)
4. NWN process memory injection scanning module.
5. Bot behaviour pattern analysis, memory injection analysis(reverse engineering).
6. Modifying game exe/dll files, slight protocol modifications to spot botters.
7. Server log automated analysis - mounted times, chatted or not, inspected anyone's gear, hours played, any other NWO instances on that pc - IP(computer name, network computer name analysis), same or skills used, times of last place in chart, damage done, heals done compared to others in pvp)
8. Easy choose abuse in help, easy pick PVP account name.
9. 0XP, 0GLORY FOR LAST TWO PERSONS IN PVP RESULT CHART

IF YOU LIKE MY POST STICKY IT AND/OR DISCUSS IN CIVILIZED MANNER. (Please also point my grammar and language mistakes)

please rename post to WORKING METHODS AGAINST BOTTING and HACKERS in PVP
EDIT:Thank you for that.

Also noticed today 10 to how to sport a bot.
    10. Bots so far do not doge AOE ATTACKS.

We should be able to post botting acussations along with description here. Botting PVE single player and PVP is so common that it will not spread it further!

It should be as easy as reporting someone for spam, just a right click and flag for bot or exploits. If ten flags or so are on a character....ban.

The gear requirement would help a lot, imo. There is no reason to not be geared to the teeth while lvling as low lvl blue gear normally costs a couple thousand ad. Just invoking and doing dailies gets you enough ad to buy at least 2 blues per day.

Would also be nice to have max lvl pvp bracketed by gs as well. Pvping as a fresh 60 is just suicidal now.

    So if I don’t buy a mount then I am a bot?
    2. Random movement in Tower circle, line movement everywhere else.
It is impossible for a real player to move like this?
    3. Often low level gear - inspect character before PVP match starts, if it has low level Gear it's most likely bot( played would have hell to level not geared character)
So if I am new to pvp and have bad gear I am a bot?
    4. Too easy to kite.
So if you manage to kite me then I am a bot?
    5. It dies like a fly.
If I am new to pvp and get rolled that makes me a bot?
    6. It's dumb - attack and run in the line.
If I am not good at pvp and maneuver poorly then I am a bot?
    7. It does not chat nor respond.
If I am not engaging you in conversation while I am getting crushed by the pros I am a bot?
    8. Low score (few or none kills, low place in chart)
Someone has to come in last, if its me then I am a bot?
    9. Also a clue, automatically generated character name and dumb account name(not a word, not a nick, just random letters)
I have seen some pretty deficient names in the Enclave. Are they bots?
    10. Bots so far do not doge AOE ATTACKS like Arcane Singularity.
AS is pretty hard to get away from, I get stuck in that thing all the time, which makes me a bot?
I don’t think it’s as easy to spot a bot with these parameters or perhaps you want to be more specific. Certainly Cryptic will have to be more inventive that this to spot a bot. Honestly, it just sounds like you are describing a player who is bad at pvp (like me). Even if I managed to use all my fingers to maneuver expertly and dodge AOEs while engaging you in a debate on the merits of the American novels while avoiding certain death, you would still report me for coming in near last in the standings.

Maybe the job of detecting bots is not so easy.

Certainly its not easy to describe.

Just finished a PvP match in 30-39 level range and everyone on my team was a bot, this is getting out of control now and something needs to be sorted out,we need a fast report bot/botter option like in a lot of other MMO's and we need to have the option to kick botters from the group back again.

So you even don't communicate? Like for me you troll on behalf of botters or it's a joke.

Also I came with Idea of 0 XP and 0 Glory for last 2 in bracket to motivate people and cut off bot profits.

No, not really a joke unless you find it funny, in which case I am happy to be entertaining.

I merely wanted to point out that you may be describing a bot but you are also describing someone who is not good at PVP. Perhaps you are fine with the thought that those people don’t deserve to be in PVP. Perhaps you believe they should get nothing for trying and failing.

But imagine for a moment that you are not a single self interested person in charge of only yourself and barely that.

Imagine instead that you are in charge of all the PVP, you are in charge of the whole PVP portion of the program and you want as many people to play your portion of the program as possible. You want veterans to come play PVP and you want PVE people to come play PVP. You even want new people who have never played before to come play PVP.

Does it sound like a good thing to take people who might be interested in PVP and punish them for coming in last, not knowing exactly where to go or exactly what to do? Do you think having fewer people play PVP will help make PVP better? Is it your intention to actively discourage people and drive them away from PVP?

I don’t think those things would help make PVP better. And so I caution against calling for strictures that would punish players for being new or bad.

The other pros will be punishment enough for that.

I see the same bots everyday here on Dragon. Sometimes I find it amusing when I see bots attacking each other or a human player gets owned by a bot lol.

tbh i would'nt worry about bots very soon all that will be left in this game is bots and exploiters, although i dont think there is much left to exploit anymore lol
we yet have another patch today 'suposidly' with fix's, but yet all we get is even more bugs, its a shame this game was great in Beta and had so much potential to be realy big, but now every day that passes just brings more problems and more bugs that never get fixed until its way too late,
realy great work PW you actualy had a great game on your hands, shame your actualy ruining it yourselves. lol

So I haven't seen anyone hack in PvP. Maybe I missed it. How are players hacking in PvP as in they running programs or somehow hitting really hard ?

You are trying to convince that there are other ways to detect a bot. Are you aware that most PVP bots are just plain obvious? Even bad PVPers will improve over time, unless the PVPer is intentionally trolling the team.

A level 50 TR wearing only level 10 gears enters PVP. Go, try to convince other players that this is not a bot. Anyone intelligent enough to play Neverwinter WILL BE intelligent enough to upgrade gears guadually. If it is a REAL player, will still be reported for trying to troll the whole team by getting one shot with that kind of gear.
    "Lucky" is the new FOTM.

    EDIT:Thank you for that.

Add : Reporting bots before PVP - Go to Blacklake campfire. If you see a TR / groups of TR just standing there, inspect them. If it is a lvl 30+ TR wearing only level 10 gears, you know who they are. Intelligent players will upgrade their gears over time.

Of course there may be other possibilities, like it is a real TR who either does not know how to wear new armor (really... knows how to wear level 10 gears, but not higher?) or intentionally trolling by wearing very low level armor just to act like a bot.

Well this is not hard enough evidence sadly. But gear score requirement to join pvp is good idea.
