I just respecced, and when I increased my stats, wisdom and charisma to +1 at the various levels, my gear score dropped by roughly 100 points.
I don't care so much about GS, but wondering if this is an indication that one or both of these stats is having the reverse effect of the intended? Similar to other buggy effects we have seen.
Perhaps I am just missing something obvious as to why I'd lose GS by increasing a CW's core stats.
Gear Score only applies to Attacking/Healing + Protection which is derived from the sum of the non-Utility slot stat ratings on gear that you are wearing or from HP and Def from feats.
So, its more likely you changed a feat like Toughness. I would check that first.
This is assuming there are no oddities like a temporary random GS reduction from a 4pc Divine Emissary Cleric walking around you.
Gs is meaningless, really. Purely b/c different feats can inflate it. Also the tooltips for min gs for some of the epic dungeons are wrong. They say you need 8.3k gs and let you queue for it, but you get booted out when the dungeon pops. Has happened to me twice while trying to run caverns of k

This is intended because Int is our primary stat, so your primary stat is now lower. The primary stat directly influences your GS.

Gear Score is the sum of gear ratings (or their equivalent ratings from some feats). It has nothing whatsoever to do with Ability Scores in any way shape or form.

This is not true. I respeced and added toughness and Int to my build and my GS jumped several hundred points. Try it on test if you don't believe me.
It may be prestidigitation, did you spec out of it? Or maybe you got less CHA (give crit which affects GS) than before?
I didn't notice if other ability scores affect gs (damage bonus, recharge speed), but GS is basically a measure of the stats you get from your gear (and 4p set bonuses don't count at all).

Toughness 3/3 = 9% Health.
- ex. 9% of 20,000 original HP = 1800
- conversion is approx. 26% for Hit Points into GS. So, ex. 26% of 1800 = 468.
So, let me guess, your GS jumped by almost exactly 470 and no more?
Like I said, feats that grant HP add to GS.
Unrelated, but afaik there are no free respecs on test shard, so there is no reason why I would want to test on such "test" servers. Also, what happens on test is often not like Live at all, almost by definition.

EDIT: Hp count as GS aswell
To be 100% clear:
I respecced all powers, hit complete.
I respecced all feats, hit complete.
I looked at my GS, it was X.
I +1-ed my stats, meaning I added to them.
I looked at my GS again, it was x minus about 100.
Adding to Int and Cha DECREASED my gear score. No one else has noticed this?
Let your campfire buff go away/get one if you don't have on atm -> GS changes (lower with campfire buff)
Not sure why.. while the invasion event there was a buff that added like 450 def&deflect, which decreased my GS by like 400. Some strange miscalculating in there.

I had not redone my stats, it was the last thing I did. I changed no gear during the respec, not did I log out.
After redoing my stats, meaning I added to them, I lost 100 GS.
Like I said, I don't care about GS, but I do care if there is some reverse bug with our primary and/or secondary stats.
