Decided to give some feedback to Perfect World regarding their PvP system.
Firstly, I play CW. I have read on these forums that people seem to think our class is overpowered in some way. I haven't experienced that in the slightest whilst PvPing. What I have noticed is that the CONTROL Wizard have absolutely no control in PvP. Rogues are often immune to all forms of CC, GWF also seem to be immune half of the time although they are not as bad as TR's. The only opponents that I can actually control are other Control Wizards and Clerics.
I find our combo to be highly boring. Ice Knife is the only decent damage spell which is on a long cooldown and often requires targets to be in a control spell to even make it worth casting. Other than that our arsenal of spells are completely rubbish. Yes, we can blink 3 times....which doesn't help when rogues can deal as much damage at range as they do melee. I don't understand the concept of a melee fighter having the best of both worlds. I don't understand how PWE have allowed Rogues to remain stealthed while dishing out huge amounts of damage. I know I will get a lot of replies from rogues either telling me to learn how to combat it effectively which is pretty much what every member of a MMO community says when they know they are playing a class that is overpowered. The fact is Rogues have high ranged/melee damage, stealth, immunities and everything else.
Control Wizards on the other hand have no real form of defence at all. I would like to see something added that lets us become immune to CC or actually make it so teleport has a point in being used since at the moment, I can be stunned from range by a melee class, nuked down from range by a melee class. It just seems like any form of kiting is pointless in this game.
I will say that PvP in Neverwinter is all for melee classes, if you play CW or Cleric then your in for a rough time. The only time your going to have a little fun is when your daily is up and you actually manage to land it on someone when they are not immune to everything.
I just figured I would share my experience with CW, I don't plan on PvPing any more. I have the gear I wanted, I can happily say that my dismal PvP experience in Neverwinter has come to an end. Bloody hurray!
I wish I could offer you hope that what you wrote isn't really true, the best thing I can say to you is at least you were a CW and not a cleric so you could have fun against us. In actual D&D, mages would be the hardest class to control and by far, and rogues would be going around with little low damage daggers, once thrown they would no longer have them in hand, and once discovered they'd be dead as they have very little health to go along with their very little defense.
Rogues range attack has 12 charges that build DMG for every consecutive hit. If you blink once or even twice during the attacks you will take a fraction of the DMG you would normally.
If they have a stealth build they lose one DMG encounter slot and cant use their daily for DMG either.
If they have immunity to cc they lose another DMG encounter slot.
The rogue stealth build is a survival build. It only really becomes strong with a lot of gear and enchants, but at that point its not a matter of the class but the gear difference.
So how exactly are you dying to rogues again? Oh yeah, you have no idea how their mechanics work and you clearly shouldn't be playing ANY online game because you can't handle adapting.
The only class that you will really always have a hard time with is gwf. But you can't be good against every class no matter how much you think you should.

Yes yes yes yes you are right but STILL THAT DMG IS ENOUGH TO KILL WIZARDS. AoE them you say? how? All AoE has short range/long cast time making they easily avoidable, please keep just tossing those **** knives and say its all ok and learn to play, in the meanwhile I keep dying.
Have fun rogues, soon all clothies will stop bothering to join and you can kill yourselves!

What I got from this.
1- You never took the time to learn your class
2- You never took the time to learn how to counter other classes ( the most important)
3- You didn't get geared properly or fill a roll on a team
4- Its good that you won't pvp anymore but I miss killing players like you over and over. So I will miss you.

Well I guess is time for you to " lfg X T2 dungeon fast runs 1000k GS " which is even more boring .
Well my first toon was CW, and its my favourite. Now I have to say, if you are talking about pvp at level cap (level 60) then I can understand what you are on about. In that case you are likely not geared up and getting eaten by everything.
However, pvp pre-level 60, or for a well-geared CW at level 60, is very easy. The classes are surprisingly balanced pre-60, but the CW has the upper hand especially vs rogues. No rogue pre-60 is going to kill a decently played CW (unless the rogue has great gear or the CW is in the really weak zone at level x5- x8).
I loved my pvp pre-60 on CW it was such a blast, so many ways to mess up and play with the enemy, and great for controlling points with all the CC and repell on a really short CD. I didn't even spec the OP renegade build- I went for what is usually seen as the totally gimped oppressor build and still pre-60 pvp was a walk in the park and great fun on the CW.
Oh as for ice-knife: CW dailies recharge stupidly fast, and ice-knife does huge damage from range and nearly always hits. In fact I can't believe the rogue daily was nerfed and ice-knife was left alone, I seem to have it ready for a guaranteed kill every other minute.
GF and GWF can be tough, but the teleport dodge helps at least against GWF. It depends what skills GF has slotted, but sometimes you just have to run.

What 'actual' dnd game do you play? Because I can guarantee you that those 'low damage daggers' will out damage any mage in 3e-4e. And little health and little defense? They have more health than the mages that's for sure, and they have the highest achievable armor class in the game. Both 3e and 4e. High dex + ac bracers have more ac than any plate/shield combo. So no....the mage is not the ultimate bad *** you make it out to be. They are a great class, don't get me wrong. I usually play a cleric or mage when it comes to pnp. But don't be fooled into thinking rogues are weak because the people you play with suck at it...

3E hell no. Prepared wizard will school prepared rogues. AC is useless, and using a spell that doesn't require a reflex save....
4E, yes. Removing 9/10s of all options "rebalanced" the game. Its basically gauntlet on paper.
Fireballs and lightning bolts from a 20th level mage sporting sheilds, contingencies, and mirror images beats the HAMSTER out of your rouge every single time. Just sayin'. Casters will outpace other classes in the end because of the way spells scale, that's it.

DEFENSE is what is used against attacks.
Occam's Razor makes the cutting clean.
