Ok big yay! Lots of fanfare - The grand opening! - Come people play our wonderful game!
Okay where is our fix?
How are us Clerics supposed to do something in PvP matches other then be cannon fodder points for the enemy?
I'm a ZERO (scratch one) legged man in an arsekicking contest.
I try everyday, bashing my head wondering should I just quit or wait till Cryptic gets around to fixing us.
I try to have patients thinking I can endure 4 matches to get my diamonds for the day.
It's it's like the movie "Groundhog day" + the receiving end of "A Nightmare on Elm Street" - a reoccurring nightmare every time I try this, left wondering: "why did they make it so we are useless here?", "fool, why am I still playing this?".
Like just now if I'm lucky, if I even get a less-then-1/2-nerfed DAS down it makes little difference when I'm instantly killed inside it by a CW, or knocked out of it by a GF and THEN killed instantly anyhow.
The solution? Like any other MORPG scale damage, and, or defense while in PvP modes.
I'm not saying completely homogenize it, just make things playable where us Clerics are not left feeling castrated.
(P.S. Yes trolls I do know how to play, oh the irony, and have pretty good gear, etc.)
I dunno my cleric is dominating in pvp since the balance patch. I generally use sunburst, healingword, searing light, guardianangel, brand, astral seal, hallowed ground as well as soothing light when a target is taking alot of damage/low on hp to great effect.
This on lvl 60 PVP? If so I want video proof (and I'm willing to bet you won't be able to provide it). The only way cleric's do anything in PVP atm aside from dieing is when the other team is super horrible + (and this is a huge +) your side actively guards you. You are a liability to PVP matches, stop playing and ruining other player's chances. As it stands now a cleric on your team in PVP is at best the same as someone going afk and at worse cripples you through them being easy kill fodder. Nothing Cryptic about how dismal the cleric is in PVP and PVE atm. Heal Pot's are still Superior to Clerics...

Actually as a pve specced cleric all you can do ( unless you are wearing endgame+max enchants and you are versus regulars) you can do nothing. However as a damage dealer hiding far from the combat and running as hell whenever seeing someone moving in your direction you can get some kill, although you have to spec for damage then, and suck as pve healer. I would give you names of skills if I would remember them but i was using lance+brand of the sand and as encounters mark of doom that dot with slow on divinity chains to hold people in place and hammer. 1v1 you can probably do **** but as a support dmg you can your dots debufff and divine dmg someone to death or hammer them to death. Ofc if someoen will see you or come to you are toast. But as long as you are good at hiding you can get few kills. I'm not saying that the class is good or balanced for pvp, just that at some big ( very big) effort its playable.
Yea after posting this, I took a break.
Came back and decided the hell with trying to heal people and I actually had fun just fighting.
I at least felt like I could add to the battle, etc., and could even get a few kills here and there.
I posted in another thread about my experiences.
For the heck of it I already respeced in a semi-DPS build with few points in "Templar's Domain" and a lot in the "Virtuous" tree.
Like this guy's build here: http://nw-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?355512-DPS-OFFHEALS-DEBUFF-BUFF-Discussion
I already had good crit and recovery with a 2+2 gear set, some good enchants, and a stone so I swapped out some recovery enchants with armor pen for a bit of a boost (jury is still out on this, needs more testing).
And like he does say in the thread you CAN heal effectively.
It's a lot of the same, you drop down the DAS and put down an HG around the cool down when you can, SB and FF for heals, etc.
With out doing some actual math, or at least doing a serious comparison, I can't compare exactly the differences between my old build (basically Deistik's) and this.
Does seem a little harder to get points up though, but then I think this is something from the patch in general.
I'm experimenting with the attacks. SL and FF more fun since they are targeted skills you can easily spam, but then with points in "Nimubus" I should be using DL; it does seem to do a lot of damage and the 10% def debuff must be adding a lot; just takes a little bit more skill/time to target AOE style.
And I too swap HG out and put HoF in. Get your target down around 1/2 and ba'boom-boom they're usually dead.

I don't have the best gear in the game, but i'd bet 10.5k isnt supposed to be destroyed unless i get a lucky proc and become immune to extend my horribad death by 3 seconds. Before the change you could at least the eat the dirt for a while before you needed to recast AS and the other 5 players on the other team ran out of encounters to use on you. Now, you just die and it's frustrating bull**** that they scaled the actual ONLY thing we had to stay upright. I spent massive amount of money on this game to level what I wanted, gear up in some of the best gear and get roflstomped for doing it. Thanks, time to level a GWF and be a jerk in pvp as well.
Hell a tank does more in pvp then we do and that is a joke.

So what's the bet?
I beat 2 premade groups with pugs simply by carrying them with OP cleric (they had no cleric) after making my first post.
I could make a video I guess, I probably won't though. If you're actually willing to bet something I would probably be more motivated but really there's no way to ensure you'll honor the donation.
I also tried to take several screenshots of the 5 or 6 matches that i domianted in earlier with positive K/d ratio and ridiculous amount of assists, unfortunately I believe print screen isn't the screenshot key, will post screenshots another day probably.

Yes the solution to being a worthless healer is to be a very bad wizard.
Outstanding.
