I am a wiz, and i love this class, but in my opinion i think in some sense the shield and the ap gain on the wiz is just too much. He gains ap too much and i can basically flip between shield and daily all the time and whats the point of that? 1 shield gives me 40%+ ap gain, then whats the point? other classes in not even needed, just for the boss. I would like to see other characters do something also, not just sit back and pump everything around gaining all the ap i can wish for.
Yes also, the stamina regen on wiz is just retardedly fast, with ap gain and stamina regen, its just pointless class to play. Yes and also, TR's Cloud of Steel is too weak, can you buff that to 20 blades, i just stacked some deflect on my wiz and it dodges half and i can just teleport my way out of it, and since TR is an offensive class i just keep my teammates around and lock him down and shoot him with my ice. all in all just nerf the wiz, i love him, its the only class i play but he is simply just too strong.
nobody wants to run dungeons without wiz cause he just pushes everything around and rest of team just have to sit back and watch how stuff dies in deathpools. i think its bad for the game.
I do not agree. First, with mobs having way too much hp and being in HAMSTER amounts you can't just nerf CW without balancing other stuff, especially boss fights.
Second, your AP gain is so fast only when there is plenty of mobs around. If there is just a few you won't be able to rotate AS->Shield so often. With 15-30 mobs around your team you need this AP to keep control, a wizard having cooldowns on and no AS active is a dead weight.
So, wizards are "OP" because mobs are balanced to be much more dangerous than bosses. They should rebalance this stuff totally because at the current state fights depend on wizards far too much.
there is always alot of adds in this game, and why do you think cw should do all the job all the time? everybody is dependant on cw and most of the time 3 cw is better than all the rest of the classes. just cleric, cw and some dps. gf is pointless and so is gwf, they dont have a role, cw fills 3 roles in a group, in most time of the run even dps class can just sit back and just use smoke bomb. no point to deal dmg at all. walk along whole dungeon just for the boss.

I agree 100%. I don't think fights should be so CW dependant. The problem is by nerfing CW you don't solve the real issue which is adds being unbalanced. Having had Astral Shield nerfed so much you would just make many encounters even harder.
Imo they need to make adds less in numbers, adding them some special attacks in return, so whole team needs to focus not only CWs.
If playing a CW is boring and too easy, then play a different class, and don't allow any CW's in your party.

In traditional dungeons and dragons, high level mages are very very powerful.
A non-magician with no magic items/armor/weapons has little chance of victory against a high mage.
Even having high magic resistance is not enough because good mages have numerous ways to kill (and defend themselves), either directly or indirectly.
I chose a CW before I read anything on this forum, for two reasons.
1) No stealing. No lockpicking. Gameplay is combat oriented. Therefore, I skip my favorite class - Thief.
2) Magic is incredibly powerful.

CW don't have a good damage on single target. You are free to go in raid with 3 CW, but then don't QQ if you need an hour to kill a boss.
In fact, rogues are needed like CWs. And obviously, tank and cleric are needed too.
The only class "not foundamental" is the GWF.... i don't even know why cryptic have 'invented' them, when they could have used paladins, with a dps spec and in future a healing spec.

You are right about a healer, this role was always needful so NWO doesn't change that. About a tank: teams without it post-patch are doing great so I think Guardian Fighters are still dispensable. So devoted cleric + control wizard are a base of every team. Both are the most responsible for final success/failure.
You definetly dont need a tank for anyhting in this game. I personally like 1tr, 1GWF, 1 cleric, 2 CWs. Thats for CN really and the gwf is interchangable with rouge. For all T2 though 1 CW is more than enough. Better off with an extra rouge or DC
