Ok I didn't want to create a new thread about topics that have already been covered. I was unable to find something compareing what I am looking for. I am looing at what would be the best type of Armor enhancement for the way I am currently playing my GWF. I am running a instigator build now with Come and get it , not so fast, IBS, WMS and WS. Also I will be running a full AOW set once I can get my hands on all the pieces. What I am usually doing is sucking the mobs in and going to town with the above abilites.
Where my delema is at is whether to pursue soulforge or briathorn enhancement. I like both and can see how they would both help me out with what I am wanting to do. For a control and destoy build would it be better to have a constant 3.2% of incomming damage reflected back with GPF and tenebrous enhancements or have a 4s immunity every 60 sec and hoping that your armor procs when you go below 25%. I am factorinig in unstopable and what it does with the feat based immunity as well plus potion cool down.
Just wanted to get some thoughts from the gwf community to see if Briarthorn was worth while or if i should take my chances with the better looking proc of the 4s life saving proc every 60 sec.

I run Briarthorn... The amount of time we go below 25% is too frequent for Soulforge to be of any use. The idea behind soulforge is that when you go below 25% you get a temp immunity, IMHO the only way to ensure that this CD would be worthwhile is if you played a class the infrequently goes below 25% (GF or maybe CW) so that when you do hit that point you can actually utilize it to save your own life. In our case we utilize unstoppable and potions on a frequent rotation to ensure that we live through the encounter till the Cleric can catchup. Realistically Briarthorn would enable you to get in a little extra damage consistently to ensure the mobs burn down quicker.

Agreed, same thing goes with alot of enchants. The secondary ability quite often underperforms outside of pvp settings. 1min cooldown for a 10 second defense buff? No thanks. Soulforge is however useful in boss encounters. (due to prone.)

however from what we've seen thus far in this game you will get a ton more use out of briar. You could just get a duplicate chest piece and run a soulforge in there to have it for bosses. Especially if you are put on there for single target.
