Yes, the epic dungeons are the same dungeons you've played previously - just harder.

They're called Cloak Tower, Cragmire Crypt, Lair of the Mad Dragon, Thone of Idris, etc... Just like the lower level dungeons.

What exactly do you have to do to get into a t1 dungeon? Is there lvl restrictions or gs restrictions??

OK I just figured this out myself in the last hour. Press k, and highlight each dungeon and read the description of it. Thatll tell you what tiers drop where and what dungeons are what lvl.

Cloak Tower (Gloves) and Crypts (Boots) are the entry level dungeons. They require 5700 score. They should be doable by anyone who's 60 regardless of gear. Cloak Tower is very easy and is often times used to farm Unicorn Seals for jewelry. Crypt is run less because it's so abysmally long at 40 minutes even done fast.

Lair of the Mad Dragon (Helm), Throne of Idris (Chest), and Grey Wolf Den (Weapon) are the next level of dungeon. They require 6800 score. Idris is actually very easy, arguably easier/quicker than Cloak Tower. Mad Dragon and Grey Wolf Den are easy but have harder end bosses that tends to wipe most randomly assigned groups. These mostly drop Unicorn Seals but bosses all have a chance to drop Drake Seals too.

Both sets of those dungeons are considered Tier 1 because they drop Tier 1 quality gear.

Tier 2 basically follows the same pattern for the rest of the dungeons. As others point out, if you press K and select the dungeon a pop up below will tell you more. I will also say just because you have the gear score doesn't mean you're necessarily ready for a dungeon.

Tier 3 is basically Castle Neverwinter.

thanks, and sorry to rebump and old thread, but what exactly does the tier 1 gear consist of? what about t2? you never really see anything more on AH, so when i hit 60, and bought out the high vizier set, and have no idea what im working towards next.

can someone write something about difficulty on the tier 2 dungeons. I find Pirate's Lair fairly easy, but get really frustrated with the frozen one. All tier 2 dungeons have the same gear score though all the way up to the never dungeon.

Are they in order as the appear in difficulty?

Pretty much lets be honest if you have competent players these instances are easy. Most new players rank them as follows
T1s (all except one of them)
T2s (all except one of them)
Lair of the Mad Dragon (Most people just don't seem to get how to do this but it is simple as simple once you do)
Dread Vaults (This place is just horrible to run so few people know how)
    Castle Neverwinter

As for the gear its all BOE so pretty much if you are buying off of the AH you are likly to be buying T2 and won't have anything to work towards. That said some sets are valued more than other and are thus worth more.

You can buy everything from AH for a bit of cash and there is nothing left to work toward for... Thats the game. I think more than 80% buy T2 and other BIS items from AH. Some even think reaching 12k gear score is enough to successfully crawl a T2 dungeon...

Please don't necro things, especially when they were from the beta period of the game.
