Bots are certainly an industry wide challenge and one Cryptic is taking extremely seriously...
However if there was some simple solution to this billion dollar a year pandemic then you wouldn't have articles to discuss the botting issues which occur in every game from small independant companies to the industry leaders.
It's very much akin to the battle between armor and weapons. Since the stone age people have made armor to deal with attacks of various sorts but no matter what the armor is always a step behind. Every solution results in another problem which has to be overcome.
If you have the solution to the industry wide botting fiasco you'll become a very, very rich person.

There's a difference between how they feel about bots and how fast bots can be identified and banned.
Thanks for the tickets but as always it takes time to review each account that is reported so this all, sadly, falls under the customer service improvements which is also an ongoing issue which is being addressed.
And, of course, there's also the chance the person is not botting to begin with.

There is a very simple solution, all currency is bound account wide and cannot be traded period. Anything bought with any type of currency cannot be traded, anything won cannot be traded, just vendored. Regular or epic gear can be broken down to salvage/craft components or sold to npc's as junk. Loot can only be sold to vendors. Guild money can be distributed to buy potions and this money will only buy potions, the money will not function any other way, potions would be bound to account. You want something, go out and work for it.
As for an ah, it would simply be a low level trash or low level craft supply trading post in which only item for item can be traded, no currencies or microtransaction items allowed as they would be bound to account.
Bot problem solved, where is my money?
There is no worse feeling in the world than the moment during an argument you realize you are wrong.
Why not just make Glory items bound to the character that purchases them? Surely that would solve a lot of issues?

Botters ruin the pvp element of the game, which frankly ruins the game for me. I am 57 now and hoping I don't see pvp full of botters at 60. If I do, moving on...
PS - the policy of "file a ticket = ban the account" also demonstrates the worst level of customer service imaginable. So no extra latitude should be afforded this game.

In my experience there haven't been any botters in level 60 PvP.
What I see instead is extremely unfair grouping (pre-mades vs pugs)
No Gear Score Consideration (Fresh off the boat level 60's with ~6K GS fighting 12K GS)
And rampant leavers who make losing miserable and winning challengeless.
I was happily surprised how much I enjoyed PvP until this became worse and worse to me over the last couple of weeks.

The past week it looks like the AFK botters at level 60 as cleared up a bit but the Advanced PvP Bots are still running strong. The advanced bots are hard to detect unless you know what to look for.

I agree with you totally on these points? Does this mean that Cryptic are considering setting up a separate queue for premades and a gearscore (or even better as much harder to spoof) an ELO ranking system?

The question is do these black markets help the game or hurt it? Maybe some mmo's are even involved with the black market in some way like a corrupt government. Like stated above the black market is a billion dollar industry

That's simply my opinion but there's no official word one whether systems are being put in place to manage those issues.
I certainly hope so though!

Most definitely hurt it.
