Anymore Foundry's like "The Old Jerry Saga"? AKA: Bloodshed

First I just wanted to say that Starkravingmad is my most favorite Foundry author! IMHO his "The Old Jerry Saga" part 1 and 2 are not only the most fun Foundry's in NW!

Both are just straight forward kill kill and kill so more quests through a dungeon! The pack of mobs are placed at perfect spots so you can handle 1 or 2 packs at a time if you so desire. There's no surprise spawning mobs after you kill a pack. What you see is what you get! You can't get lost! Everything is linear, straightforward, no BS, just plain ol' walk forward (with the occasional backtracking in Part 2) and keep progressing gameplay.

But best of all, there's a little humor involved too! The way my character interacts with Old Jerry is HILARIOUS! I can be clueless about him, or be a complete jerk, and I smile everytime I do these Foundry quests!

Are there anymore Foundry quests like this? Where it's straight forward, no long tedious story reading, no pointless NPC talking and travelling, no delivery tasks, with mob after mob after mob as I progress at my own pace, with no surprise attack, just plain old walk up to a pack, kill, walk to another, kill and keep repeating over and over as I actually play the game and don't waste my time just reading, walking or riding....... and if there's humor then sure why not, but it's not required.

Cause if not, then I guess i'll just keep doing The Old Jerry Saga everyday for my AD like I've been doing for the past week. :D

I still need to play that. In the meantime there are a ton of other really good stories out there.

Check out My Youtube page for some of my plays through some great stories that you might enjoy.

As far as there being not that many story quests. The majority of the people on the forum seem to be focusing more on engrossing stories. I am certain though that there are plenty of hack and slash out there for you as well.

Where as not a hack and slash quest persay, "Bill's Tavern" certainly hits the comedy button, as does "Yes, a Kobold Dungeon Master"

    Both are great quests.

A story driven quest, with a fun and challenging amount of combat, that takes you into the world of Planescape, carefully hand crafted by me.

I absolutely hated that foundry quest. It was a total hack job. If that is what you set your standards at... you should be pleasantly surprised by most other foundry quests.

Hey now, everybody likes different stuff! I've never played that foundry adventure, but it could be absolutely fantastic at what it sets out to do.

In this old school-style adventure, the hero(es) explore an old ruined castle while searching for a fabled magic item at the behest of a wizard.

I guess you are looking for quality made hack'n'slash maps with proper balancing for solo play. Those are indeed rare.

    Try:
    Orc Slayer (v2.5)
    and
    Bill's Tavern

Those are exact names. Both are pretty straightforward but well designed levels, and encounters are well balanced. Good job from their autors. I liked both quests. They aren't simple farming maps. Actual work was done with them.

^ "Bill's Tavern" is my current favorite, cheesy / corny whatever but I think it is just right. Look down on it if you will but in my opinion telling a story without extensive dialog is also part of the art and style of video games. "Bill's Tavern" hits the right buttons for me. If I ever get around to making a foundry quest I would almost certainly try to emulate the duration, placements, and map (re)utilization of it some of things it does very right.

Will have to check out these others:
    "Orc Slayer (v2.5)"
    "The Old Jerry Saga"

If you want a humor based hack 'n' slash foundry check out Neverwinter Beta Dungeon, @mopo27, NW-DEPUGOWZX. It's short and sweet and everyone agrees quite hilarious :)

Don't mean to toot my own horn, but my quest has a very light story, lots of environmental details, well thought out design, tons of costumes, good encounter setup and a difficulty slider for all to enjoy.

    Check it out :)

    Info is in the sig

I also recommend "Spellthief Trials" by Almostcool: Link

His quest probably has the best environmental detail of any quest I've played.

and Dugada's "Cry from the Past": Link

He's not a native English speaker but I tried to help him with the grammer he used. The quest itself is really fun with cool effects used and it involves Time Travel.

Sorry I have to give a shameless plug or you'll never find my quest in the catalog. I only mention this because I enjoy quests like "The Pit" and "Orc Slayer". But couldn't find many quality Hack and Slashes. Most of the time it is encounter stacking and randomly choosing costumes to dress the same encounter in over and over.

I put a lot of effort into my hack and slash, and even added elements for a back story, for those players that require a reason.

I am pretty meticulous and I am looking to make this as fun as possible. I've spent hours on decor and costumes alone. I have nearly 50 custom costumes and almost 900 pieces of decor just for this one map. I've also made sure the reskinning makes sense and just didn't flood my map with encounters for the sake of it. I've also crawled through it a lot to insure the pace and spread of the mobs is perfect. I even added a shortcut for getting down from the second floor in the crypt so there isn't a lot of downtime between combat, and since I only use one map I put various portals that will bring you back to the campfire to recharge and head back out easier.

    Quest Name: Mage Masher
    Number: NW-DKYGGYPUE
Description: A 25-30 minute hack and slash through a mage guild. There is a little back and forth to unlock doors, but the action should not stop. It can be played solo, or with friends. There is a blind steward where the difficulty can be set.

IMO the full experience is gotten by playing it with friends and selecting the many option. This quest has been vetted to complete under either option.

What's up with the Lost dog? Is there really a whistle or meat to find?

Quest Name: "Shebum's Room at the Moonstone Mask"

Number: NW-DTBBQW2RI (Searchable under "best" only at this point)

It's a stretch, but it is a bit like Old Jerry's Saga in its use of humor and light (very light in this case) meta references.

It is around 15 minutes. Trying to get it daily reward eligible with enough play throughs.

I'd like to second anrix on Mage Masher. It's definitely one of the best hack n' slash-type quests I've played in the Foundry so far, and the detail that's gone into it is excellent.
