This zone is horrible. There really is no redeeming factor about it. In my opinion, it's not pleasing to the eye, and the quests are just... Eh. The pathfinding for the glowing line is broken, and that really doesn't help with the horrible map (when it comes to multiple levels). What really gets me, however, is the stupid Temple of the Primordials. Either the GWF /really/ sucks (even though it didn't with all the other zones up until now), or this quest should be changed to a party quest. I don't know what I could possibly do beat this alone as a GWF, the bosses are too resilient, it's way too long, and by God does the whole thing feel like a grind to get your last few levels. I may be a bit harder on this zone since it frustrates the hell out of me, but I don't think that my overall opinions would be changed much, regardless. Anyway, what do you guys think? Is it a good zone? Is it not? Your opinions? Am I just a bad player for having so much trouble with this zone solo (even though I've had none in the other zones)?

Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man

Yeah, that part was annoying. They are fixing it, though (it's buried in the notes for the Big Patch).

I think part of it is that stuff starts getting a good bit harder in the last 5 levels or so. This zone, and the next one (mindflayers, yay!) are just brutal. No matter what class you are.

I checked it out on the preview server. They are actually only fixing half of it. There are two boulders that are blocking the paths in that area. One to the east of the camp and one to the west. They removed the one to the east of the camp, but the one to the west is still there.
With all my characters, I've only ever done the first half of Hotenow, then I move over the Whispering Caverns.
Like you, I also think this zone is not worth the effort of visiting.
If you can bypass this zone by levelling in Foundries and dungeons, then that would be my recommendation to the community.
You know, as opposed to Mount Hotelater, Mount HotelastMonday, or Mount $40Hote. And "Mount Hotenow" takes a LOT less time to type out than "Mount Hotewhateveritiscalled". Why did I even reply to this, I don't even! XD
Bright zones bother me after a while. The bright orange here and the bright white of the snow area both bother me quickly, not quite to the point of an eyestrain or headache but close enough. So while the fire looks good, after about 10 min I am tired of it.
I dislike the guys that do the puddles and have spikes floating above their heads for whatever random reason.
The last area of the zone, with the 3-d loop of bugged paths and too many mobs in too little space is a pain. I liked it up to the tree pretty well. The camp past the tree was OK. The last camp --- I was already sick of the zone and that area was so bad I just left, never to return.

It is a very fast zone. You can make two levels from the starting quests in under 30 minutes. Not worth skipping.
Weird... i started liking the challenge there... i soloed all the content with all my toons, and the game only brings challenge when you get to that zone, the flamespikers are a pain in the ***, the temple of the primordial is awesome! i am really lazy, so when i went there for first time i realized inside that i was short on pots (about 12 or so) and kits (3) finishing it with that shortage was one of the best gaming experiences i had in a while, using portable altars to heal between batles, using into the fray to run out the giant/golem combos, and getting to the final giant on 4 pots! using the first try to kill without wasting any to study him and the adds... and then an epic battle of run rabbit run, hit, block, run even more, kill adds while out of the red, ressurecting the pet to get a little more health... was really challenging.
