So are the Drow going to forever remain with the $200 price tag?

I wouldn't mind if it was on the Zen store for about $10 or something, but $200?

:(

Since they've officially said they will stop selling founders pack soon, the drow wont even be purchasable anymore.

I assume they'll launch some other stuff that costs tons of money and let you get a drow that way though.

The plan that was stated back when the Founder packs came out was "Get this special Drow variant in the Founder pack; 30-60 days after launch, the Drow race will be released to the general playerbase."

However "launch" happens to be defined. And it's been said that classes & races will be free.

edit: the current guess is that Drow + whatever new classes they have (Archer Ranger & Scourge Warlock?) will be part of the first content patch.

Yeah no kidding right? I also want the Panther in the cash shop too. Been wanting to buy it for awhile, but not for $200, lol.

Ehh you stupid people with artisan level of incompetence in looking for information.
Renegade drow is founders pack only and it will remain that way.
Normal drow will be introduced for free in "near future", my bet is with content patch with new class as well.

Any idea when they plan to drop the patch? Or even "launch"?

I wonder what the differences between renegade Drow and normal Drow will be. I'm also curious what storyline reason will be given as to why normal drow are acting as heroes, since I assumed that what the entire point of the renegades?

    It'll be interesting to see!

From the info scraps I've gathered, between 30 and 90 days after OB launch.

No idea on storyline, but little to no difference mechanically.

Now that I think about it, launch of class+race makes sense, watch out for all those drow rangers! Makes one wonder if they go with the two-bladed ranger though.

Try €200 or about $260 here in the UK...

Earliest 28th of June, but I dont see it, as there's still a lot of basic stuff to fix yet

As for 'renegade' Drow, all adventurer Drow should be, as worship of Lolth and being generally evil manipulative scum, doesnt make for good party members!
(or maybe it does with the current state of T1-3 looting)
but we'll have to see how PWE/Cyptic go with this...

I imagine Drow will be put up as its own sale for zen in the future.

The day they start charging for content, they will have lost all integrity, and many players to boot. Hope they don't.

So far they've been pretty good on their word, and I respect that.

Hypothetically speaking, how is charging for exclusive, playable Drow any different from charging for exclusive mounts?

It's core game content not otherwise available in the game. Mounts, on the other hand, you can still get with in-game currency.

Besides, they have specifically stated that they won't charge for it or any races/classes down the road, so it's more a matter of principle for me.

It is exclusive for aesthetic looks only.

The race itself will be free to play.

They are using the "release" of the drow race as a dangling carrot to a good lump of the player base to keep them playing. Dont be surprised if there will be "conditions" for obtaining it. Like for example being a member of their stupid Arc

Core game content, much like the core game mechanic of respecs? Oh wait, they do charge for that...

But in all fairness they have said that the Drow race will be available to everyone for free 60 days after the games launch. Lets hope they meant 60 after the launch of OB because god knows when they'll be willing to remove the safety net of the "BETA" tag they seem so desperate to cling to.

The only difference between the Drow Renegade and the standard Drow release is supposedly a unique facial tattoo and the Renegade background choice.

You do know this is an MMO, right? Where the "dangling carrot" of more content patches in the future, is always there? Because that's how MMOs work?
