Hi everyone. I just did some overhauling of my first quest to fix up some issues people here have pointed out, and I'd like to trade reviews and see what else comes up.
quest code is NW-DTF7JKSFZ or look up by author KTENHBN
There's no thread for it yet, it needs some polishing still and my graphics are too poor for screenshots I think. If anyone on Dragon server with a high end system would be interested in working a deal for gold or AD for screenshots or demo vids, that'd be pretty cool, too.
Also, my fellow authors, I'm a bit stuck with a few things I'd like to do, but can't quite work out...these questions are spoilers to the quest, so don't read them until you play if you don't like that kind of thing.
-I'd like to use item interactions instead of dialogue for rescuing the prisoners, that way it wouldn't have to be separate quest objectives for each one, and it wouldn't matter in what order you rescued them. But I am using dialogue right now because with item interactions you can use required item or required skill, but not both. Is there any way around this?
-Does anyone know when exactly play time is figured? Is it after the last quest objective or once the chest is opened? I like having two different final fights depending on the dialogue choices, but I can't figure a way to do that as part of the quest.
-Is there any way to make an NPC invisible to encounters? I read that you could use invisible walls, but I can't seem to get that to work. I'd like to move the cleric spirit at the end back toward where the portal was, but when the boss mobs spawn he drops from the levitating animation to cowering, even with a 20x20x20 invis wall around him.
It's heavy on reading/story and it's average of 45mins play so I won't be offended if you would rather not review. But i'll go review yours anyway
PS. Your question 3 bugs the hell out of me too!
Quest Name: In search of Innocence | Foundry code: NW-DL8DTYYPS.
Heavy on story/plot. Expect to read (and think) a lot to get the most out of the quest. Will probably appeal to roleplayers though that is not to say that there are no tough fights - could be challenging for solo play. Average play time: 45 mins

@myrmecoleon- just finished yours. some parts were tough as a 60 gwf, but good tough. loved pretty much everything about it, especially all the lore. i'm only vaguely familiar with forgotten realms, mostly from playing BG, so its all new and exciting to me. Going to look more into the shade enclave and figure how to tie it into the next part of my quest. one small thing, when running from the shadow wolves, i had to stop and turn the camera to even notice anything was back there....but i think that is a gwf dash thing, i had just run out of pots at the lost legion part, and was dashing like mad.
edit: btw, left you a 5star review ingame as well. really cool quest.
@revelationmd & givearandomname- will check both of yours out tonite
Just finished it - I enjoyed it, and the combat difficulty and the duration were both great. The only suggestion I'd have is adding a few more customised decals and other details to further differentiate it from the normal Tower District. Those patrols must also have taken quite some time to do, and the spacing was also good. Some detailed comments below:
- In Cleric Freemor's introductory dialogue, "he sent us to invesigate it" should read "investigate it".
- The ghost cleric pose at the end of the dialogue was a nice touch!
- Noticed the entrance in the ruined tower which normally leads to the Inn is an interactable portal which takes the player to the southern portion of the map - is it intended that players use the portal after freeing the first prisoner, or is that intended as a shortcut?

@myrmecoleon That portal was part of a plan for an optional fight at the end that was going to be inside the tower that I haven't added yet for two reasons
1) Can't seem to link an indoor map without using a quest objective. i'd like it to be optional.
2) I just can't seem to find any interiors that don't look too large for the exterior.
@data314159 adding to the list to check out tonite.
ok me and wife just ran thru it the map is good and the story is good only thing i found wrong was the talk to cleric at the end the dialog you have him set to disapear when dialogue point reached and he disapears after the first response so did't get to read the rest of his dialogue if swith it to disapear after the final response will fix it.
other question all the prisoners i could dispell the chains but one and had to kill him is that the way its supose to go? wsa the second prisoner had to kill

One way around it might be to create an indoors type area from scratch in the existing map (e.g. in the eastern section of the map, where the player wouldn't normally chance upon it following the quest path) and use teleporters either way.
Also added some screenshots in an edit above!

My 60 GWF actually ran out of pots and died doing all of these. I'm going to try again on my 20 some GF and go in better prepared and post up more details and finish so i can put up ingame reviews as well.
