Keybinds and movement bug

I cannot use a WASD movement system, and so I attempted to change my controls to a WoW-like system, wherein forward movement is keyed to a Left+Right mouse button press. This works fine.

Next I decided that I wanted the USE button to be Left Click, and my first power to be Right Click. Once again, this worked fine, except for in combat, I could not move my character unless I first used the Shift key skill, which is the shield guard, since I play a Guardian Fighter. Basically the shield guard "broke" the combat queue so that I could move with my left+right mouse buttons.

This admittedly unorthodox system worked well until level 10, when my character's shield guard turned into another attack. Now there is no way to move my character while in combat.

Before people pile on to tell me that it's my fault for wanting such a keybind setup, please remember that this worked up until level 10. If it was "wrong" of me to set things up this way, firstly, the game should not have allowed it, and secondly, it should not have worked so well from levels 1-9.

I am hoping that this is a bug and will be looked at so that I can continue to enjoy the game.

Addendum: I tried assigning different keystrokes for forward movement, and I discovered that once auto-attack starts, there is no possible way to move your character. I think that this is the root bug.

the only thing that changes at 10 is you get your 'tab' ability where you can Block damage until your Guard Meter is out. I dont know of any auto-attacks.

The combat is designed to keep the character in place until the action/ability is complete. for most of the At Will attacks we can hold the button down instead of repeat key use (or clicking if you're using the mouse) where upon release the last action will complete they we can move.

I'm curious why you cannot use a WASD system?
Open the Launcher. Click Options near the top. Check Disable on-demand patching. This will download another couple of gigs.

This is what I think is the bug. I click my attack once, and then my character will repeat the attack indefinitely while I am rooted in place. Nothing I do will break her out of it, except, as I said, the Shift key guard power pre level 10.

I am aware that this game is not supposed to have auto-attack, and yet, I have it.

What other keybinds are set for your mouse 1 (left click)?

it could be that 2 keybinds are making this 1 at-will loop.

As I said, I tried rebinding so that I had no duplicates. Same problem.

After a bit of research, I found that other people had had this problem and that it had nothing to do with their keybinds. That is not to say that we know what causes it.

However, I was made aware of the fact that At-will #2 is by default bound to the right mouse button. When I created my character, the default was set to Joystick 8. I do not have and never have had a joystick attached to my computer. This could have something to do with my bugginess.
